Condition
The car is described as being in good, working condition and rust-free. There is various use and age wear on the bodywork, including dry moldings, stone chips, minor paint scratches, flaming plastic details, wear on the R-front and a small bubble in the paint under the molding on one door. However, the overall impression is good considering the mileage and a car with almost 30 years behind it! The car, but not the roof, has been repainted on the outside three years ago by the company. The glass panes are in good condition. Lantern glass as well. The rims are in good condition with only minor scratches and the tire tread is described as good.
The interior is in good used condition but there are signs of age, but mostly dirt and minor scratches. A recond can probably do wonders on the inside. The chairs have survived the usual cracks in the leather, which is a big plus. Wooden details are in good condition. The steering wheel has wear from use. The instrument panel has a crack in the plastic glass that sits in front of the instrument panels. Buttons and controls in good condition. The front center armrest could do with a new coat of paint as it starts to crack a bit. The back seat has held up well over the years! Inner ceiling in okay condition. Entry strips and door sides have wear and some plastic parts have damage. The A/C does not cool well and the code for the radio is unfortunately missing.
Engine is described as being in good condition, also driveline and gearbox. An aftermarket system has been fitted. The brakes are in good condition and were replaced a few years ago. There is a clunking sound in the rear.
Service history
The service book is unfortunately missing. Last inspection took place on 2024-05-02.
Summary
One of the best Swedish cars of the 90s that did very well in standard wagon racing. The sonorous five is bullet proof and a sign of how well built the R was.
