1990 Volvo 740 Turbo 16s

Basic Information & Background

The Volvo 740 was a popular car model produced by Volvo between 1984 and 1992. It was part of Volvo's 700 series, which was known for its build quality, safety considerations and solid performance. The 740 was a mid-size sedan that gained a reputation for practicality, reliability and comfortable driving and was available with a variety of engine options.

In 1989, a special version of the 740 Turbo was launched for the Italian market (which was also sold in e.g. Portugal) which had the B204GT engine which was a 2.0L engine with a 16v top and a whopping 200hp which was unique to this model. The cars were also delivered with a lot of equipment and since it was only made for a few years it is very sought after on the market.

This refurbished example is one of the last to be produced and imported by the seller from Portugal who was a true Volvo enthusiast who had taken very good care of the car. In addition, the car was driven home all the way without a problem!

Equipment

Condition

Exterior: Thanks to the car's previous owner who took good care of the car, it is still in a very nice and 100% stainless condition. Sometime in the later 2000s, the car received a full paint job and today there are no exterior marks apart from a couple of minor marks that are documented in the album. The read mileage is 297530km and is guaranteed by the seller. The turbo rims are also in very good condition and there are no remarks on either glass, moldings or emblems. Interior. A very nice original interior in black full leather. There are a couple of minor marks/wear on the leather, door sides and parts of the instrument panel, but very little given the car's age and mileage and once again shows how well the car has been taken care of. Inner ceiling is completely fine, the floor mat as well, but the gauges and lighting work as they should. Note that the "fringed" carpet in the back is a fabric carpet that is on top of the floor carpet. Mechanical. The recognized 2.0L turbo engine called the B204GT and was sold in the turbo models for e.g. The Italian and Portuguese market is doing very well, the gearbox and the rest of the driveline, including the diff rear axle, work great without any noise or complaints. The tires are in good condition with approx. 5mm tread depth. Original instruction book and service book are included as a couple of service logs, but in recent years, previous owners have serviced themselves. Summary

An unusual model with a lot of equipment and one of the strongest engines Volvo had ever delivered, together with the very nice condition, the car's future value development is predicted to be very positive and will also be able to give future owners many pleasant miles!
