Basic Information & Background
The W107 model is one of Mercedes' true classics. In production between 1971-1989 almost completely unchanged indicates a solid and popular car which in recent years has seen a big boost in the market. This example is a two-door cabriolet in a classic color with both a soft top and a hardtop. Same owner for the last 12 years and only 2 previous owners who used the car on nice summer days!
The power comes from Mercedes' reliable and proven 2.7 liter straight six with 185 horsepower via a 3-speed automatic transmission which, despite its age, gives the car a clearly sufficient performance compared to today's cars. With only 121,750 km, this is a low-mileage example in very good used condition that really stands up to use. The car has some patina but overall gives a very nice overall impression.
Other equipment:
The car comes with both a convertible top and a hardtop, the latter of which is painted in the same color as the rest of the car
The upholstery is black vinyl
The original radio is mounted together with an old police radio
Condition
Exterior: The car is very nice in both sheet metal and paint with no remarks except for a small stone chip at the front. The car has received a minor renovation around 2015 with new garage paint and various new sheet metal parts and is now completely stainless in the body. In connection with the renovation, the seller chose to take out the engine and interior and sand the car sheet metal clean before new paint. Everything is documented with text and pictures. All glass parts, moldings and emblems are in very good condition apart from the star on the tailgate which is missing the ring. The original wheels are in very good condition and the car presents itself very well. The convertible roof has been replaced and is in top condition. Please see our detailed pictures for more info and feel free to ask questions in the comment field!
Interior: The black leather interior is in very good condition for its age and mileage. There are traces of use and age/patina but can be considered to be in honest and good condition with no damage/tears in the upholstery with relatively little traces of use, complete and fine inner ceiling and is of course smoke free. Details such as the steering wheel, gear lever, instrument panel etc. are in good condition, but there are a couple of minor cracks on the door sides, e.g. The original radio is fitted with a retrofitted police radio.
The control for heat does not work but can be adjusted under the hood. The problem is probably a sluggish wire. The padding in the driver's seat has been replaced by one and then the leather on both seats was dyed. Please see our detailed pictures for more info and feel free to ask questions in the comment field!
Mechanically: The seller says that the car is in very good mechanical condition and the drivetrain works as it should. The recognized 2.7 L six runs well and the car feels stable on the road. There are no known mechanical faults apart from possibly an adjustment of the gear positions and that when the car is standing for a long time there are a few drops of oil underneath. Last service was carried out approx. 300 miles ago by a private person who has a workshop and has been well maintained over the years, however there is no previous service record. All brakes have been checked about 100 miles ago and the car is now exempt from inspection. Please see our detailed pictures for more info and feel free to ask questions in the comment field!
Summary
This generation's Mercedes-Benz SL is a true style icon and familiar to the vast majority. The look exudes class and elegance far above where these cars currently stand in terms of value and many predict that these could be a good investment in the future. But above all, these are cars that, with their robust construction, can withstand being used. This honest copy is exactly the kind of car that, with its fine condition and low miles, will be able to drive many wonderful miles in the future. Very nice cab feeling for the money, quite simply.

Mattan i skuffen saknas, ja.
