The current owner informs that the body is very carefully restored and among the finest bodies he has seen on an Elan. The paintwork is described as being in generally very good condition, but the trunk lid has some plastic damage at the top. The bonnet has two defects at the front after being too close to the radiator. The distance to the radiator is of course fixed. The car received new paint around the turn of the millennium. Chrome, moldings and lamp glass are described as being in good condition. Front bumper has various marks. Back has minor scratches. The convertible top is new and fulfills its function when it rains. Assembly is done by the owner himself and a ready-made cab was used. Fit is not the best but it holds tight if bad weather should suddenly appear. Minilite copies are mounted with tires that have rolled approx. 1000 km.
The interior is decorated with a new underlying rubber mat with sound insulation. Needle felt rugs are custom made. Original door panels and instrument panel have some wear. The chairs are in good condition. Instrument panel in good condition. Entry strips as well. Steering wheel, buttons and controls with minor traces of wear. All electronics work as intended in the passenger compartment.
Engine is described as being in refurbished condition with good oil pressure. The top has been machined by Ultramotors with milling of valves and seats and grinding in of valve shims. Gearbox and drivetrain are described as being in good condition. Driveline has received a new lamella and release bearing. Brakes in good condition with nice pads and freshly turned front discs. Mechanically, everything works as intended.
Service history
All fluids and filters have been changed during the renovation that took place in 2023-2024. An engine oil change after break-in remains at the time of writing. The oil and filter will be changed before the car is handed over to the new owner. Receipts are available for various purchased parts. Last inspection took place on 2024-06-25.
Summary
