Basic information and history

Swedish motor history, 1946 Volvo PV 60. Sold new in Umeå with a total of 4 owners over the years. The previous owner, 2001-2016, was Kurt Klarman, responsible for the powertrain in the design team for the PV 60. According to history, the car stopped working on September 15, 1973, the same day that King Gustaf VI Adolf died in Helsingborg Infirmary. Between 2016 and 2023, the car was completely renovated by the renowned Bengt Augustsson at Master Garage in Eskilstuna. 50 years after the death of the former king, this piece of motoring history has been restored and is back on our Swedish roads.

As previously described, the car was completely renovated between 2016-2023. The body is today in very good condition with no worse scratches. On the other hand, the current owner informs that there is a dent as big as a nickel on the bonnet. It is possible that it can be dented. Before repainting, the car was sanded down and sheet metal cleaned. The original windows on the car were refitted after renovation and are in very good condition. Both bumpers and the hubcaps are newly chromed. Moldings and emblems have been polished. There is some patina on some minor details. The rims are free of damage and the tires fitted are new.

The interior is described as being in very good condition. The steering wheel and moldings around the instruments have been polished and come with a matching patina. Seating surfaces in very good condition. Door sides in good condition with minor staining, probably from water during rain, but should be able to be spruced up to something. The interior roof is new and in very good condition. All electronics in the cabin work as intended, but the odometer is stuck at 109992km.

Engine is serviced and works very well. Driveline and gearbox as well, and of course without noise. Brakes are also new and in very good condition. Mechanically, everything works as it should. The last inspection took place on 2023-05-06 and the car is of course inspection-free in the future.
