1976 Volvo 343 DL Manuell

Danwer
Stockholm
Basic Information & Background

The Volvo 3-series may not have been Volvo's most sought-after model over the years, but lately nice examples have started to find homes for Volvo enthusiasts all over the world and interest has grown! This example stands out from the crowd in several ways, but to begin with, it is one of the very earliest built with a low chassis number. It began life as 1 of 10 press cars produced for Volvo's marketing department and was a well-equipped example right from the factory. The first private owner (4 in total) worked on the launch of the model and kept it until 2011. During his ownership, the car was updated and upgraded to become the model that Volvo would have built from the beginning, where the biggest upgrade was the change to the manual M45 gearbox. The car is also extra equipped with i.a.

  • 4-speed M45 manual gearbox
  • Spoiler
  • Engine heater
  • GT rims in 13"
  • Dome nuts for GT rim
  • Reflex to bumper
  • Protective strip
  • GT Stripes
  • Lockable fuel cap
  • Telescopic roof antenna
  • Radio FM MPX - AM
  • Speakers "color-matched to the interior"
  • Dog net

The car has been owned by enthusiasts throughout its life which shows in the condition, the car is in very nice original condition with only 5900 miles on the odometer and the interior with its upgraded seats is a really nice place to sit. Please see the classic magazine (pictures can be found in the "documentation" album) for more information about the car's history!

Condition

Exterior: Very nice and unrestored original car. There are a couple of marks after use, i.a. on the left rear fender and some minor stone chips in the front. Please see our detailed pictures!

Interior. The original interior is in fantastically nice and fully functional condition! Both smells and feels like the car came from the factory yesterday. Noted are some cosmetic spots on the headliner.

Mechanical: Vibrant and easy-starting 1.4L engine with choke. Clutch/gearbox/brakes feel very good and the car is very well looked after. There are no known faults with the engine or drivetrain.

Service history

Original service book does not exist, but all other instruction books etc are included with the car, 2 keys and latest inspection report. The last inspection was 2020/06 and the car has been driven very little since then.

Summary

A different model with a fun history that we believe will be a safe investment for the future! Well-documented and described car that fits just as well in a museum as it does on the road!
