1969 Volvo 144 custom
Mintastic
Kalmar
Basic information and History
Volvo 140, one of Volvo's most popular, recognized and nowadays also sought-after models. A wear-and-tear from Torslanda with a build quality that few can match and which can still be used today for everyday use or pleasure driving. The model has begun to gain real cult status on the market and you still see many on the roads thanks to a large availability of spare parts.
This is a Swedish-sold car with just under 14,400 miles, few owners and a good history. Withdrawn in 1969 by the first owner and has had only 8 owners since then. The car was completely rust-free when the seller bought it, but has recently undergone a thorough renovation and rebuild to what you see here, a nice custom build with a lovely "Vallåkra-feeling" inspired by Zolander's buildings.

Condition
Exterior: The seller says that the car was renovated between 2022-2023 and is in an amazingly nice renovated condition. The paint is professionally done in a new Volvo XC90 original paint, widening is well done and in short the car presents itself very well. Underneath, the car is tectylated/anti-rust treated and all glass parts, moldings and emblems are in very good condition. The MK18 rims are in mint condition with new tires with 9mm tread remaining. For more info on exact condition see our detailed photos in the album and feel free to ask questions in the comment field!
Interior: The interior appears to be in very nice renovated condition with no remarks except for some signs of use on the instrument panel and controls. The entire interior has been renovated and received new stylish and period-typical fabric upholstery on the seats and suede/alcantara door sides/instrument panel. For more info on exact condition, see our detailed photos in the album and feel free to ask questions in the comments!
Mechanics: The driveline is original and untouched and it runs very well in both engine and box and always starts immediately. The last documented service was in 2022, which was done by the seller's own workshop, and the car is now inspection- and tax-exempt. The car has run very little since renovation and service and there is no previous service documentation. Please see all the photos on the documentation in the album!
Summary
A future classic with a fine history, low miles and few owners since new. An opportunity to acquire a well-built custom example that will probably live into the next century and give the next lucky owner many reliable miles.
