Model designation R129 was built from 1989 until 2001 and was considered by Mercedes-Benz themselves to be the world's safest car, despite the lack of a roof. This with the help of, among other things, adjustable shock absorbers and a folding roll bar if the accident was imminent. The model was also the first with belts attached directly to the seat. In addition to high safety equipment, the car's comfort and luxury were also top notch. High level of equipment as standard and fine comfort made the car an absolute top among GT wagons.

This tourmaline-green R129 SL500 comes with a 5-liter V8 of 320hp/470nm mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission. 0-100 takes approx. 6.5 seconds and the top speed is restricted to 250 km/h. The car was sold new in 1995 in Germany and was imported to Sweden already in 1997. On Swedish soil, the car has only had 1 owner and comes in good used condition. The odometer reads approx. 112.000km currently.

The car is described as being in good condition. The paintwork looks OK but there is normal wear and tear, including marks, scratches and minor scratches in the paintwork, dents on the rear screen and damage to both the rear and front spoiler. Antenna missing. Hardtop in usable condition included. It also comes with original 15" AMG rims with tires installed. Soft top appears to be in good condition with only minor dirt and wear on one molding. Rims appear to be in good condition.

Interiorly, the black leather looks good and has also survived worse cracks and damage from e.g. boarding and disembarking. Door sides, however, have customary markings on the driver's side. Wood panel around the gear lever has minor cracks and marks. Buttons and controls look nice, as does the instrument panel. In the trunk there are stains on the carpet.

Engine and gearbox are described by the current owner as very good. No leaks have been noted. Under the hood it looks free of damage and wear, albeit dirty. Mechanically and electrically notifying owner works as it should.

The last service was carried out in June this year and the car was inspected/MOT'd in May. Previous service stamps can be seen under documentation.
