Basic information and History
The Mercedes-Benz 300 GD is part of the G-Wagen family (short for "Geländewagen", which means "cross-country vehicle" in German). The 300 GD specifically refers to a variant of the G-Wagen produced in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

The engine in the 300 GD is a 3.0 liter diesel engine called OM617, i.e. 5 cylinder.
The car was turbo-converted by GIK turboteknik on 20-08-1993 and now delivers an output of 90kw, i.e. approx. 122 HP.

Like all G-Wagen models, this 300 GD has a robust four-wheel drive system with both high and low gears, making it very capable for off-road driving. This car is also equipped with the 5-speed gearbox.

The design of the G-Wagen is known for its boxy and utilitarian design. It usually comes in a wagon-style body, but there have been various other configurations over the years, including convertible and pickup versions.

Interior: Depending on the specific model year and equipment level, the interior of the 300 GD may vary. This car is equipped with fabric upholstery with a period pattern and rear bench seats.

A bit of curiosity about the ownership history is that from 1999-04 to 2008-07 the car was registered as a truck.
The next owner from 2008-07 to 2017-04 had the car only stored during the summer months and in the winter the car was garaged in a heated garage.
The current owner restored the car to a passenger car.

The odometer has turned and today stands at 30,206 km, which means that the car has traveled 130,206 km, which the seller certifies.

Summary

Originally designed as a military vehicle, it has evolved into a luxury SUV over the years. The 300 GD played a role in establishing the G-Wagen as a more exclusive and civilian-oriented vehicle without losing its original character.
Enthusiasts and collectors appreciate the older G-Wagen models like the 300 GD for their ruggedness and classic design. Here is a Swedish-sold example that has rolled all its life up in Norrland where a lot of time has been spent by the current owner to refurbish it. As the current owner does not have the opportunity to complete the last part, it must pass on to someone who appreciates this classic.
