1992 Mercedes 300 SE

Basic information and History

The Mercedes S-Class is a name that has always been associated with luxury and quality, and the W140 generation built between 1992 - 1998 is undoubtedly one of the very best. This generation is recognized for being one of the most well-built models and has just now started to get a big boost in the market and has ended up in the "modern classic" compartment and thus the prices have also started to rise. In short, the model offers a lovely 90s feel with a great deal of character and comfort yet modern enough to be used on a daily basis.

The model was sold in a multitude of different versions and with different engines but one of the most sold is clearly this example which is a standard length 300 model with the recognized 3.0L straight 6. An engine that provides enough power but with great reliability but also an affordable fuel consumption compared to the larger engines.

This is a Swedish-sold copy which, according to info, was originally sold to H&M owner Stefan Persson. The car has had a total of 10 owners since it was new.

Equipment and Options

Condition

Exterior: The car is in an ok used condition and has been well taken care of over the years. There are various minor damages and marks on, among other things, the bumper and some bubbles in the paint near the tank lid. The seller says that the car is largely rust-free on the body and the moldings, chrome details and glass parts are in good condition, as are the aluminum wheels. Interior: The luxurious interior is in very nice used condition with minor wear in exposed areas. The dashboard is in very good condition, as are all controls, buttons, carpets and headliner. Mechanically: The seller says that the car runs fine mechanically and mechanically and electrically works as it should. It shifts smoothly between gears, the engine pulls nicely and there are no known leaks under the car. Newly inspected 2023/06. The read odometer reading is 148,780 km which is guaranteed by the seller and the car is also now a vintage car and tax exempt. Summary

Overall, the Mercedes S-Class of the W140 generation is considered one of the more desirable models thanks to its high quality, incredible comfort and design, and is predicted to have a positive value trend in the future. Nice copies will probably never be as cheap as they have been and we think they give incredible value for money!
