Basic information and History

An incredibly nice, very well-documented and Swedish-sold Lotus Esprit S3 with only 37460 km. A youngtimer sports car from England in true Colin Chapman spirit, i.e. low weight, good balance and with fantastic feedback to the driver.

This example was bought new by the actor Carl-Gustav Lindstedt and is 1 of 2 cars sold that went to Sweden in that color in 1987. Previous owners are real Lotus enthusiasts where the latest one is on the board of the Lotus club, which is also visible in the large amount of documentation that is included the car. The car has been cared for incredibly well and is considered one of the finest examples on the market today!

Original paint except in a small place (receipt is on the work) and the car is without any remarks on the exterior except for a couple of very small stone chips on the front/lip. All glass parts are in top condition as well as moldings and emblems in addition to a minor discoloration on the molding around the rear window. The pop-up light and other lighting work without any complaints. For more info on exact condition, see our detailed photos in the album and feel free to ask questions in the comments!

Interior: A very nice original interior in black full leather. Minimal signs of use and in very good condition. Dashboard and panels are in very good condition with some patina and traces of age/use on buttons and controls. There is some matting on the leather behind the seats. No comments on the functions inside except the AC which needs a service/refill. The seller says that the fuel light already lights up at half a tank, which is a common phenomenon on this type of car. For more info on exact condition, see our detailed photos in the album and feel free to ask questions in the comments!

Mechanics: The 2.2l engine and gearbox run fantastically well and feel as lively as when it was new. There are no noted leaks or remarks. The car is incredibly well documented with all service and maintenance and the most recent service including timing belt replacement was carried out in autumn 2020 by Bertil Carlsson who is a recognized lotus expert who has also serviced the car on several previous occasions. An extra service with new oil and filter was done in May 2023 by the seller. Brakes and chassis all around are in very good condition, as are the tires with a lot of tread left. The odometer reading is only 37460 km and is guaranteed by the seller. The car was last inspected in 2023/05 without any comments.
