1988 Ferrari 328 GTB

Ace1926
Jönköping
Basic information and History

An incredibly nice, very well-documented and Swedish-sold Ferrari 328 GTB with only 6,280 miles. A youngtimer sports car from Italy in GTB design, which means a fixed roof without a removable roof hatch. Ferrari produced only 1,344 cars in this GTB version and is considered one of the most sought-after versions. The model offers a fantastic period-typical driving feeling with an enormous amount of feedback to the driver and not least the well-known "click-clack" sound from the gear shifter during gear changes. Power comes from Ferrari's small V8 3.2L 199kw/270hp via a five-speed manual transmission that drives the rear wheels.

This relatively light equipment (1263kg) does 0-100 km/h in 6.4 seconds and with a top speed of 263 km/h, it is a car that gives the gas-happy driving pleasure even today. The model is considered to be one of the most reliable of the classic Ferrari cars and also the easiest to maintain as it does not require any "engine-out" services such as when changing the timing belt.

This copy was bought brand new from the dealer Wendels by Marco Smedberg who is a recognized military historian, armor officer and member of the Royal Academy of Military Sciences. All previous owners have undeniably been real Ferrari enthusiasts, which can also be seen in the large amount of documentation that comes with the car. The car has been cared for incredibly well and can undoubtedly be considered one of the finest examples on the market today!

Condition

Exterior: The car is in fantastically fine unrestored and stainless original condition. To the seller's knowledge, it is original paint except for the grill on the front hood and the car is without any exterior remarks except for some wear/marks inside the wheel arches and some minor stone chips. All glass parts are in top condition, as are the moldings and emblems. The pop-up lights and other lighting work without any complaints and the rims are as nice as when the car was delivered! For more info on exact condition, see our detailed photos in the album and feel free to ask questions in the comments!

Interior: A very nice original interior in bright full leather on the seats and a combination of black/light full leather on the dashboard and door sides. Minimal signs of use and in amazingly fine condition. Dashboard and panels are in very good condition with some patina and very few traces of age/use. The buttons have been renovated and are free from "sticky button syndrome". No comments on the functions inside except AC which works well but sporadically which according to info seems to be a fault with the control itself. For more info on exact condition, see our detailed photos in the album and feel free to ask questions in the comments!

Mechanics: The 3.2L V8 engine and the wonderful 5-speed box runs amazingly well and feels as lively as when it was new and thanks to the Larini system sounds even better! The car is incredibly well documented with all service and maintenance. Last service was performed in 2020 at Von Braun Sportscars, which is a recognized Ferrari expert who has also serviced the car on several occasions. Brakes and chassis are in very good condition, as are the tires with a lot of tread left. Noticed is some oil moisture around screws under the engine but is otherwise very dry and fine. The odometer reading is only 62816 km and is guaranteed by the seller. The car was last inspected in 2022/05 without any comments. For more info on exact condition, see our detailed photos in the album and feel free to ask questions in the comments!

Summary

One of the finest examples of the coveted 328 GTB we've ever seen with an incredibly fine and well-documented history. The Ferrari 328 GTB/GTS was one of the brand's smaller models and the slimmer design still stands up well and it is an extremely beautiful car with fine proportions when seen in real life. This particular copy has also received all the care you can expect and all the work is documented and presented to the new owner.
