Basic information and History

BMW's E30 model is one of the favorites of BMW fans and the 6-cylinder models with manual gearbox have seen a big rise in value in recent times. This example is basically a 325i that was converted by HARTGE in Germany into a so-called. H35-24 model. The H35 received a lot of aesthetic and chassis modifications, but the biggest upgrade was the straight 6 of 3.5L and 250hp from i.a. BMW 635. The cars also received, among other things:

The car is sold new Sweden in 1987 and is believed to have been converted soon after. At some point over the years, the 3.5L engine has been replaced with an S38B36 engine from the E34 M5 and still has the 5-speed "dogleg" Sport Getrag box from the E30 M3. It has also been upgraded with upgraded brakes and a coil-over kit. This specific car was tested against BMW E30 M3 and Alpina B6 and won the overall test due to its great performance.

Condition

Exterior: The seller says that the car is in very good condition on the outside apart from a couple of minor marks that are documented in the album. Glass parts are in good condition as well as moldings and emblems. However, the emblem is missing from the tailgate and one of the front side moldings is loose.

The car has a nice pair of Hartge rims in top condition with tires that have good tread but are old and should be replaced. Fog lights etc are not mounted in the front but are included with the purchase. Interior: The interior upholstery appears to be in very good condition except for very little wear and 2 small holes (one in the front seat and one in the back seat). The dashboard and the rest of the interior are in good condition, however, with a couple of smaller covers missing and what looks like some glue residue on the top. Original stereo is not available. The car is equipped with a sunroof that works flawlessly. The Hartge gauge works and is in good condition, but the temp gauge is not connected to the new engine. The car is equipped with electric lifts but with unclear function. The low meter reading appears to be 100% correct according to the history and condition of the car, but considering the age of the car, it cannot be guaranteed by the seller. Mechanics: The engine is a modified and forged S38B36 which is the same straight 6 found in the M5 E34. The car was recently benched during the mapping by Dahlbäck Racing to 285hp on the rear wheels and runs really nicely. There are definitely some minor fixes to be made in the engine compartment to get it perfect but is a really nice engine in a really nice car. The 5-speed dogleg gearbox shifts nicely and has no noises or the like from the rear axle. Brakes and chassis are otherwise in top condition with many new and replaced parts. Summary

A car with which there are certainly a few small fixes to get it perfect, but overall in very good condition and with simple measurements can be even better. In our opinion, there are three options for the buyer of this car. 1: Keep exactly as it is as a really fun bus with awesome performance. 2: Invest some time and money to get it "ready" and have an even nicer bus in exhibition condition. 3: Sell the M5 engine and use the money to restore to 100% Hartge H35-24 and see it as a really good future investment!
