This is truly a car where driving pleasure plays a key part. The body may show some wear and tear, but mechanically the car is completely reviewed by the professionals at Levin Racing and delivers a wonderful analog and involving driving experience that also leaves significantly more expensive cars behind. If you want the Porsche experience, it's probably hard to get more fun for your money.
When it was introduced, the Porsche 996 was a completely new car that had no more than the model name "911" on the engine cover in common with the predecessor, the air-cooled 993. For the first time, the 911 became water-cooled, but also modernities such as dual overhead camshafts and four-valve tops saw the light of day. This of course created strong reactions among the enthusiasts for air-cooled but the fact remains that the 996 is both lighter and faster than the 993 on all levels. Over the years, prices have been at incredibly low levels when compared to the air-cooled cars, but the driving experience is just as engaging as all other 911s.
This particular car began its life in France as a base-equipped Carrera 2 in 1997, with the unusual option of LSD in the rear axle, something that is important and makes a big difference in inspired driving. After import to Sweden as early as 1998, the car has a fully documented ownership history. After an engine failure due to driver error, the engine was replaced at the Porsche Center in Linköping. The current engine has today clocked approximately 40.000 kilometers and was equipped with the x51 oil pan to minimize the risk of oil starvation during hard cornering.
The current owner has carried out all performance updates in their possession and gone through the entire car with both Porsche's own 111-point test and since then continued the development together with renowned Porsche specialist Levin Racing in Kungsör. IMS was inspected early and experts judged that a change of bearing was not needed. In the current version, the car has done about 10 trackdays and feels just as tight as it should.
All updates are made with a focus on creating a true driver's car with a focus on safety. It is well suited for track days but it can very well be used for everyday driving like an enthusiast car. The car is sold with a valid MOT.

Known faults
- Spare key needs to be re-coded
- AC does not cool
- Ceiling/cover for sunroof removed to make room for taller drivers with helmets
- Some scratches on the body, no rust
- Some minor scuffs on the wheels
- Before the summer season, the tires should be replaced. Since this is primarily a driver's car, it is up to the next owner to decide how hardcore you want to go in terms of tire choice. The car has previously been fitted with both Michelin CUP 1 & 2 and 4S
