1965 Volvo Amazon Custom

Hgv65
Luleå
Basic Information & Background

Completely renovated and custom-built Volvo Amazon Herrgårdswagon in a really nice dark grey/red color combo with a nice history and sold in Sweden. Both rewritten and award-winning construction in absolute top class!

The Amazon estate wagon was a medium-sized car that Volvo produced from 1956 to 1970. The car model went by the name 120 abroad when the name Amason was taken by a German motorcycle manufacturer. Volvo was only allowed to use the name on the Swedish market but with the spelling Amazon. When it came to safety, the Amazon was the first model that Volvo fitted as standard with front seat belts and later models had 3 point belts fitted as standard. Volvo produced the manor wagon from 1962 to 1969 in 73,220 copies where 60% of all cars were exported.

This example was sold new in Sweden and has had 10 actual users where the seller has had it since 2013. The car has driven about 1000 miles after the renovation and is still in top condition.

Condition

Exterior: Despite the fact that the car has been used extensively after the renovation, it has been well taken care of, which you can see from the condition. The chrome is still in very good condition, as is the paint, which is in show condition. The car was built/renovated around 2010 for 2.5 years by the previous owner and hardly a screw has been left untouched. There are no remarks on glass parts, chrome, moldings or emblems. The Foose Legend 18" wheels are as nice as the rest of the car and the tires have about 7mm of tread left. For more info on exact condition, see our detailed photos in the album and feel free to ask questions in the comment field!

Interior: The stunning lipstick red interior is also in very nice condition with minimal signs of wear. The interior was renovated by the previous owner in conjunction with the rest of the car. The Recaro seats are in very good condition with very little wear, likewise the Grant steering wheel and dashboard and all controls/gauges were in working condition at the time of the photograph. For more info on exact condition, see our detailed photos in the album and feel free to ask questions in the comments!

Mechanical: Inspected in June 2017 without remarks and is now both tax and inspection exempt. Engine and box are, as previously mentioned, fully renovated and inspected by previous owners and are in absolute top class. The beautiful singing B20 engine is braked to 199.6hp and recognized Lindqvist Racing have been involved in the build. The gearbox is an M41 and the ratio has been changed to 4.1:1 from the sedan model. Service has been carried out after each season and all brakes are in very good condition. The mileage is about 4040 miles, but cannot be guaranteed and is sold as "TMU" (True mileage unknown).

Summary

A fantastically beautiful and custom-built example of a classic Swedish icon that both runs and looks as it should! These models have had a very positive price picture and fine examples like this always have, and will always be sought after on the market.
