Basic information and history

US-imported classic "Turbo Brick" from 1990. One of the few US models in Sweden, equipped with, among other things, a different sound scheme, double belt rollers, lockable storage in the back compartment and plastic lamps. The car has had three actual users including the current one. First owner between 90-04, second 04-18 and then current. Total mileage according to the miles meter is 242,895 miles, which translates to 390,901km at the time of writing.

Equipped with Volvo's durable B230FT of approx. 160hp/250nm connected to a 4-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.

Equipment and options

Equipped with, among other things, sunroof, cruise control, cup holder and pen compartment, electric lifts, mirrors and A/C. As previously mentioned, the USA model is equipped with double belt rollers and lockable storage in the trunk.

Condition

The general condition is described as good with wear. The car has various wear and tear but gives a good overall impression! The car has partial renovations with, among other things, screens, engine and thresholds that have been replaced and painted. There is surface rust in the fenders at the back and some stains on the door. The paintwork is described as somewhat worn on the roof and that there are some stone chips, including in the front and also on the leading edge of the roof. Front fenders and hood have been painted in the current owner's possession. The window was replaced in 2022 and is in good condition. New headlights, turn signals and taillights were installed in 2023. Moldings and emblems with normal wear from years gone by. The turbo rims are in good condition and the fitted tires have rolled approx. 3000 km.

Interior in good working condition with wear and tear from years gone by. The chairs have passed the years and mileage well with only normal wear and tear and no tears or damage to the fabric or leather. Back seat in good condition. There are some cracks in the dashboard. Buttons, steering wheel and controls in normal condition. The inner roof has been replaced from a newer 940 and is today with normal wear. Door sides in normal condition. Owner informs that A/C needs overhaul but otherwise all electricity works.

The condition of the engine is described as very good. The engine is modified with, among other things, the 98's engine block, newer manifolds and turbo. Head gasket and upper and lower soot kit replaced in 2023. Box and drivetrain are described as being in very good condition. Oil and filter changed in 2023. Brakes and calipers changed to 940 single-piston calipers. In 2022, the car got new discs and pads. Mechanically, everything works as intended.

Service history

See last paragraph under condition for replaced parts. In May 2024, the oil and filter were changed. Service book is available, but the car has been serviced in-house from 2005 onwards. The latest inspection was carried out in March 2024.

Summary

An unusual US model of our classic tank, the Volvo 745 Turbo. Few owners over the years and known ownership history. Perfect copy for those who appreciate something different but Swedish!
