Basic Information & Background
Volkswagen Beetle Convertible 1303 LS Karmann from 1974. Boxer 4 on 1.6 L producing 50 hp via a 4-speed manual.

The car was bought new by Bilmo in Lund Sweden in 1974 by the current owner. However it is not a matching numbers car as the engine has been replaced at some point.

It has spent part of its life in France where it is used in the summer. The car is now in Sweden but is re-registered and has French number plates.

The convertible top is complete and nice. The convertible top cover is intact but shows signs of cracks. The car has been stored in a barn for the past year.

Overall, the car is in good condition, there is rust under the rear bench in the rocker panels. Looks like surface rust. (See photos) Front has faired better. The rearview mirror is missing and has fallen off. Sport steering wheel .

Feels strong and perky in the engine. It is recommended to air out the brakes as the car has been stationary for a long time.

Summary
Not many convertibles were sold on the Swedish market at this time, so finding a car with 1 owner since it was new is rare. With an easier overview of the mechanics, this can be a wonderful summer car to enjoy in the summer sun! The car works as it is or is with its fine history an excellent starting point for renovation.,
