- Charming Frenchie, Renault 4CV from 1959
- Sold new in France, stopped over in Denmark and in Sweden since 2022
- Good used condition
Equipped with a 747cc large inline four of approx. 17hp connected to a 3-speed manual gearbox and rear wheel drive. No great performance numbers, but more than enough to comfortably transport the eggs from the neighboring farm and home!
Condition
The general condition is described by the current owner as good, but with a hint of rust in a few places. The rust is behind paint that has risen, mostly on the rear part of the rear fenders. Otherwise there is normal age wear, marks and some paint cracks. Generally good condition though, given the age. The car may have previously been renovated, but this is not something the current owner is aware of. Window panes are in good condition. The chrome is in good working order, but there is patina all around on the chrome, moldings, etc. The rims are in good condition with good tread depth remaining.
The interior is in a good condition. The chairs are without damage to the fabric. The inner ceiling sits where it should. Steering wheel, controls and buttons in good condition.
Engine is described as being in good condition. Gearbox and drivetrain work fine. Mechanically, everything works as intended.
Service history
The car was serviced before the inspection which took place in August 2022. Since then the car has not driven many miles. The current owner wishes to inform potential buyer that it is easy to obtain spare parts and help via https://www.club4cv.se/.
Summary
The current owner, who is French himself, rode a 4CV a lot as a child and has therefore acquired this charming gem. The car is being sold due to moving and the car is now looking for a new owner who wants to drive a French 50s vehicle and experience continental nostalgia!
