Basic information and History
The 1969 GTO is one of the most iconic muscle cars ever made. With its muscular design and distinctive Endura front end, it's a car that will turn heads wherever you go. This car has an incredible presence on the road and will earn you instant admiration from fellow car enthusiasts.
Under the hood of an original car you will find the legendary 400 cubic inch V8 engine, which then delivers up to 365 horsepower and is paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. In this one, however, you will find "a little" more engine! Based on the standard 400, this is bored out to 406ci with, among other things, forged pistons, rods, crankshaft and not least the large 6-71 compressor with Maxx ECU Race Injection and 16 injectors adapted for ethanol.
The gearbox is a TH400 box with Ultrabell housing, 4130 cromoly cardan with 1350 cross, cardan ring, Moser 31 splines and a Ford 9" rear axle. A really nice recipe for a fast street racer!
This example was sold new in Sweden and has had 14 previous owners, one of whom was Jimmy Klaavuniemi who built/modified the car around 2010.
The most recent inspection was carried out in May 2018 and is exempt from inspection.
Odometer reading is 59,602 km, which the seller cannot guarantee.
Condition
Exterior: The car is painted in a dark blue color and is now foiled in a nice dark gray foil. The paint underneath is in OK condition for an older repaint and is rust-free but with some wear that may be considered normal for the type of car. Glass parts are in good condition and chrome/mouldings are perceived to have normal wear/patina for the model year. The Ridler Pro-street rims are in very good condition and the tires have approx. 3mm tread depth. For more info, please see our detailed pictures and feel free to ask questions in the comment field!
Interior. A nice interior with normal wear on the seats, carpet etc. Instrument panel is in good condition as are the controls which have traces of use. It has a fresh headliner which however has a little tear and noted that some controls are removed/not connected due to the new engine/drivetrain package. For more info, please see our detailed pictures and feel free to ask questions in the comment field!
Mechanical. The engine which is a modified 400 engine (see spec above) and the TH 400 automatic transmission are both in good and fully functional condition. New transmission cable connected to the Hurst shifter and drivetrain, brakes and chassis are all in good working condition. The car is straight and fine on the road and can be driven on everything from cruising to racing. The car was inspected no later than May 2018 and is also tax exempt. For more info, please see our detailed pictures and feel free to ask questions in the comment field!
Summary
An unusual muscle car in Sweden that is built to be driven, but with maintained driving characteristics for slightly longer rides. A proven car that has run with a compressor for several years, which is both reliable and sorted. The attention you get is wonderful and the car is a real source of joy! Just as the seller greets, “Does it get any more muscle car than a true supercharged GTO?” This is an opportunity to acquire a great car that is dying to spend a lot of time on the road or track!

Varvtal ungefär i 100 km.
