Basic information and history
Domestically sold Maserati Biturbo Spyder from 1987 with the same owner since 1995! The car has been moved between private ownership and companies, but according to the current owner, there have only been two users since the car was new. The current owner has put a lot of energy into refining the car with various upgrades, both exterior and chassi, as well as giving it a new paint job. The car comes with a lot of documentation and history.
- Domestically sold Maserati Biturbo Spyder with two users since new
- Refined with upgraded traction, engine and has had typical problems sorted
- Fully forged engine of 478hp/620nm!
This Maserati machine has received a proper review and refinement. The engine is today a completely forged 24V 2.8-liter machine that received, among other things, JE pistons with 8.5 comp, ball-bearing turbo from a 3200, Emerald ECU with different settings, clutch from a 3200, larger intercooler, larger radiator, 6-speed gearbox and rear axle from a QuattroPorte 4. Engine has also been blueprinted and balanced. All this work has been carried out by AMK in Saltsjöboo. Engine power is measured at 478hp/620nm. The engine is currently running in and only charges 1 bar. Mapping is available for 1.6 bar.
Equipment and options
Exteriorly, the car has been updated with optics from a 222 Racing including hood, screens and spoiler. In terms of equipment, we find, among other things, leather interior and precious wood details as well as three additional gauges for pressure and mixture. As always, the dashboard is adorned by Maserati's stylish drop-shaped clock. The panel for the A/C is present but the parts have been removed to make room for the intercooler and engine cooling.
Condition
The general condition of the bodywork is very good. The car is completely freshly painted and there are only two very small dents on the driver's door. The body has been reinforced with a cage, which can be seen in the pictures of the back seat, as well as higher sides. The car is of course rust-free and was completely taken down before the new paint was applied. Everything that looked bad has been replaced and the car has also received a thorough rust protection. The glass panes are in good condition. Chrome, moldings and lamp glass are in good condition. The well suited 17" OZ Racing Futura split rims have slight paint chipping but have had brand new Kumho Ecsta PS31's fitted. The top has a previous repair but has no leakage.
The interior was sewn up ten years ago and is in a good condition, albeit dirty in its colour. A proper recond can do wonders and bring out the beautiful color once again. Wooden details in good condition. Door sides have light wear from use. The inner ceiling is described as being in good condition. Steering wheel, controls and buttons as well.
Engine is described further up in the ad and is still in a run-in state. Gearbox and driveline are described as feeling tight and the parts have rolled approx. 40000km. The front brakes have been upgraded with 310mm discs clamped by 6-piston calipers from Tarox. At the rear, new original brakes are fitted. To handle the increased power, the chassis has been upgraded with adjustable anti-roll bars in both front and rear, both from MIE. Suspension struts from MIE have also been installed. Dampers are today coilovers from GAZ. Mechanically, everything works as it should.
Service history
The car received new oil after the first 500 km run-in and is ready to continue being run-in. There is a whole folder with previous service records and other documentation. Last inspection took place in May 2023.
Summary
A very potent Maserati that has been gone through and refined to its current condition. Ready to find a new enthusiast owner who wants to ride something completely unique!
