1990 Lancia Delta Integrale 16V Per Eklund Replica

Arvika
Basic Information & Background
The Lancia Delta Integrale is a very recognized name in the rally world where it was raced with great success, and in order to compete in the class the manufacturers had to produce street versions of the cars as homologation models. This item is a 16v HF Turbo model that came in the second facelift of the first generation and offered really nice speed resources with its four wheel drive and turbo engine. The car was originally designed by Giugiaro and this version got really cool period correct fender flares like the rally car!
According to the info, the car was built/modified in Sweden by a recognized car builder in Örebro. The last owner bought the car on September 18, 2020 from a FIAT/Lancia collector who had many cars in his collection. The car has a past as a group N car and has been a driver in, among other things, the Midnight Sun Rally. The car was imported in 2003 and has been used extensively by true enthusiasts.
The car also apparently has the connection to the motorsports center in Sweden, Arvika, Värmland by being a replica of the famous rally driver Per Eklund's car. The car has appeared in magazines and articles, usually together with the previous owner's other FIAT/Lancia cars.
Condition
Exterior: The body of the car is basically well maintained and in good condition. The floor has largely been replaced by the previous owner due to rust damage. No visible rust attack as far as one can see today. However, the paint has "war damage" in the form of stone chips in several places. Some not remedied as on the front screens, others are provisionally remedied with covering paint such as e.g. in front of the rear wheels. There are a couple of minor dents/marks on e.g. the tailgate, but nothing that needs fixing to maintain the style. The characteristic cracks around strut towers, which are the Integral's Achilles' heel, are not found on this one. Please see the pictures for more info!
Interior: The interior of the car has been cleaned and a real cage has been installed in connection with the interior being painted yellow. There are real racing seats, 4-point seat belt and original belt. The standard equipment is, as most people know, spartan even in the basic version, however, there are still electric lifts! There is also a fire extinguisher and belt cutter that contribute to the right racing feel.
Mechanical: Inspected April 2021. The car runs very well in engine and gearbox. The engine is reportedly sharpened to about 250 hp. Original gearbox with an upgraded racing clutch which makes it somewhat difficult to drive in city traffic, but much needed and appreciated when driving harder. The mileage is only 2750 miles, but cannot be guaranteed and is sold as "TMU" (True mileage unknown).
Summary
A really cool and well-built example of a future classic, and with its interesting history and ancestry to Per Eklund is as good in a museum as it is on the dirt roads! Fine Integrale specimens are very attractive on the market and are predicted to rise further in the coming years.
