1933 Husqvarna 350
Basic information and history
Fantastic Husqvarna racing bike from 1933 with an exciting history in Swedish racing. With this frame type, Husqvarna built four 350cc and one 250cc factory racer. The bikes had great success both on Swedish soil but also internationally. This particular example, S4X18, was completed for Saxtorp in 1933 and driven by Calle Heimdahl. During 1934, the bike ran with a 250cc machine at both Hedemora and Saxtorp, but with Rudolf Jönsson as driver. Around 1935 the motorcycle was sold to Håkan Håkansson who fitted a 500cc Eiber engine and drove it at Saxtorp in '35 and '39.
- Unique Swede, 1933 Husqvarna racing bike
- Very well documented history
- Refurbished to a fantastic condition
During the war, the motorcycle ended up with Eiber specialists Harry Lundberg. lying in a pile of parts. The motorcycle was later rediscovered by Curt Borgenstam who bought the frame. Only in 1967 were the remaining parts acquired by Mr. Norman and Mr. Porry, who began the restoration. Restoration of this unique piece has continued for many years and is now finally completed, albeit with a newly built engine of type 350TT. The previous engine, the O.B.3 which broke down during a show in 2023 at Gelleråsen, was replaced with a fantastic 350TT built by Gösta Svensson in Åminne, a man known for his knowledge of these engine types. The O.B.3 engine is included on a stand. Today the bike is completely finished and once again ready to go out and be shown at events!
Condition
The motorcycle is described as being in very good condition. Of course, there is a contemporary and very appropriate patina on this piece of Swedish racing history. The tires fitted are new. The engine has been driven braely 200km since it was built and installed. The gearbox and driveline are described as being in good condition, as are the brakes. Mechanically, everything works as intended and the motorcycle is ready to be ridden once again. There is a lot of documentation for the motorcycle and you can see some of this in the documentation photo album.
Summary
A unique chance to own something very special from Swedish racing history. We do not know what happened to the other sister bikes, but this example has stood the test of time and has now been renovated to a very nice and dignified condition!
