Basic information and History
The Honda S2000 is built according to all the rules of the art for a sports car, rear-wheel drive, two-seater and without a roof. The model began production as a model year in 1999 and was built until 2009 and has always had a devoted following. Now in recent years it has started to gain cult status and has had a very positive trend in value which is predicted to continue as there are fewer and fewer of these low-mileage and non-modified examples.
It is appreciated for its fine road holding which i.a. is rooted in a very advanced chassis and wheel suspensions but also the fine balance from an optimal 50/50 weight distribution, on the front and rear axle. The engine is also a chapter in itself. The four-cylinder two-liter engine long held the highest specific liter output without supercharging of any mass-produced engine in the automotive world, with its 120 hp per liter.
This is an “AP1” example that the seller greets is in a fantastic condition that both the seller and previous owner have owned on several occasions. The car is originally from the USA but was brought to Sweden early and has been here for 15 years. This example is equipped with, among other things, a sports exhaust system, open air filter that makes a priceless sound when the v-tec kicks in at 6500rpm and a pair of aftermarket wheels. It is worth mentioning that all original parts remain and are included with the purchase.
Condition
Exterior: The seller says that the car is in very good condition on the outside apart from a couple of minor marks/bumps that are documented in the album. Among other things, a small door opening on the left side, and a couple of small marks on screens. Glass parts are in good condition without remarks, as are moldings and emblems.
The car has a pair of nice Dotz rims but a set of original wheels comes with the purchase. The tires on the Dotz wheels have about 5-6mm left. The original convertible has been stored in the folded position and is also in very good condition. Interior: The interior upholstery appears to be in very good condition except for very little wear on the driver's seat. The red interior contrasts really well with the paint and the combination is just the icing on the cake. The dashboard is also free of cracks or signs of sun fading.
There is an aftermarket stereo in the car and the original controls on the steering wheel cannot therefore control the stereo. All gauges and other functions in the interior are in a very good and working condition. The low meter reading is correct according to history and is guaranteed by the seller. Mechanics: The seller informs that the entire driveline including engine & gearbox works flawlessly and the car runs fantastically well on the road. Always starts, no misfires and apparently looks as new as it can after a couple of thousand miles. The last service at the workshop was carried out on 2021-07-19 and previous service records are available. The car was newly inspected in September 2023 without any complaints.
