2003 Harley Davidson Sportster 1200C 100th Anniversary Edition

AaseO
Stockholm
The Sportster 1200 Custom model takes Sportster grunt to high style with forward-mounted foot controls, a bullet headlight, and a drag-style handlebar with a one-piece riser structure. The black and chrome 1200cc Evolution® engine drives the point home and completes the look. Add to it a 21-inch laced front wheel and a 16-inch slotted chrome disc rear wheel and youÕre down the road on one of the best-looking motorcycles ever made.

In 2003 Harley Davidson produced a limited number of 100th-anniversary model Sportster. This is one of those bikes. They are identified by the 100th-anniversary paint schemes and plaques attached to the sheet metal, speedometer housing, and engine.

This particular bike also has a rather special story that makes it truly unique. Bought new as a gift to its current owner in the spring of 2003 from Harley Davidson in Årsta Stockholm, the ambition was that this bike would realize the dream of cruising along the Swedish summer landscape. The first trip was the delivery itself and went about 20km from central Stockholm to a neighboring municipality where it would be uncovered.

After the handover, the motorcycle was put away under covers for a shorter wait for the new owner to get a driver's license. However, the driver's license did not happen and the motorcycle instead remained in warm storage for 14 years.

In 2017, it was to be moved to a new storage location, and then the battery was replaced, the tank was emptied and filled with new fuel, all filters were cleaned and then an attempt was made to start up. Started immediately. After a half-day test-drive completely without incidents over about 50km, it was put away in its new garage where it stood untouched under a blanket until today.

After careful consideration, the owner has now decided that it is time to let someone else take over as custodian for this classic.

The mileage is 135 kilometers and after a careful wash and service, it will look like new.

To determine the exact mileage, the battery needs to be replaced as the meter reading is digital. At the owner's request, this example is sold in pristine unstarted original condition and we recommend a thorough overhaul with oil/fuel change before start-up.

All photos are taken 10 minutes after uncovering and the motorcycle has only been slightly wiped down so as not to risk damage to the original condition.

In addition to its extremely low miles that make it a time capsule, this is the last year model with the Evolution engine mounted to the frame, the two-tone paint in Black/silver is completely unique for the 100th Anniversary model that celebrates HD's 100 years as a motorcycle manufacturer.

To ensure a good sound experience, this model also has HD's own option with Vance and Hines Screamin 'Eagle pipes.
