Basic information and History
The Ford Mustang Mach 1 is a highly sought after and recognized model from Ford, and the 1969 model year is both the first generation with the option and one of the most popular. The Mach 1 is a performance option package that was delivered with, among other things, the 428 Cobrajet engine and other cosmetic upgrades compared to the standard model.
However, this Mach 1 has been upgraded and beyond and is a great example of how to enjoy a classic Mustang with a few well-chosen modern upgrades. The sellers have, among other things, installed a modern T56 Magnum 6-speed manual box in it with associated peripherals and a new diff 9” rear axle with 3.80:1 ratio. It was imported from the USA in 2014 and has had 2 owners in Sweden. The car has undergone a complete renovation with new sheet metal on i.a. Wings, new doors, new hood, new quater panels, new A and B-pillars, newly chromed bumpers etc. The lights have also been replaced and all work has been done by the seller who has worked with sheet metal for over 45 years.
Condition
Exterior: The seller says that the car is in a very nice "mint condition" with no complaints. The car is painted in Violet Pearl and is of course completely stainless and, as mentioned, has new chrome all around. See our detailed pictures there and feel free to ask questions in the comment field!
Interior: The luxurious original upholstery and interior are in very fine original condition with few remarks and very little wear on e.g. door sides and at the steps at the back. Instrument panel, steering wheel and carpets are in very good condition. All interior remarks are documented in the album. There is a modern and powerful car stereo including speakers installed and the car has been covered with sound-insulating carpet in, among other things, the boot lid and near the wheel arches. All controls and gauges work and there are a couple of Autometer gauges mounted in front of the gear lever. Mechanics: The car runs fantastically well in both engine and gearbox and has no complaints about the drivetrain. The engine is a refurbished and tested 428 Cobrajet with Edelbrock intake and MSD electronic ignition and is rated at 425hp. There is also an aluminum radiator on the car and upgraded power steering. In terms of chassis, it has been upgraded and reviewed with, among other things, new bushings, refurbished brakes and new rear axle. The gearbox is a new T56 Magnum that feels right in the car and gives the driver a lot of driving pleasure!
