Basic information and History

Here we have an unusual piece on our Swedish roads, a 1950 Chrysler Club Coupé from 1950. The car was imported to Sweden back in 2011 by Mike's Garage in Skåne and had 4 users since then, where the seller had it for just over 2 years. The car originally came from California and was bought by a collector and famous restaurant owner named Zeb Ziemer.

The car is in "good used condition" with a really cool 50s piece. The seller says that even though it is not perfect in the paint, it gives a very good overall impression. The car is simply not a welded-up/put-down USA car, but presents itself well and performs really well on the road. The genuine "Fulton cap" and lowering contribute greatly to the appearance and give the car a really nice "stance".

The model was produced until 1961 in various guises and shared a lot of technology with the group's other models, but was only available with the 6-cyl engine. The coupé model in particular is relatively uncommon on our roads and clearly one of the best-looking.

Equipment and Options

The Chrysler Windsor was one of the more luxurious models from the brand and had few options, but had, among other things, a glass ceiling light instead of plastic, electric windshield wipers, etc. and was considered significantly more comfortable than its Mopar cousins.

Condition

Exterior: The seller says the car was repainted sometime in the US from solid blue to a metallic blue. There are small marks but give a very good impression. Noted blemishes that stand out are, among other things, a rust bubble by the trunk lid, a small dent on the left rear fender and that the small side windows in the front of the doors are out of order. For more info on exact condition see our detailed photos in the album and feel free to ask questions in the comment field!

Interior: The interior upholstery appears to be in good condition with few remarks such as a previous repair on a seam and is believed to have been reupholstered at some point. The carpet is also in good condition and was also replaced by the previous owner. The rest of the interior is original and age has left its mark here and there. For more info on exact condition see our detailed photos in the album and feel free to ask questions in the comment field! Noticed that the speedometer and tank gauge are out of order. The seller informs that since the car is powered by 6v there is a separate 12v battery in the tailgate which goes directly to a stereo.

Mechanics: The car runs very well in both engine and drivetrain and is frequently used by the seller during the summer season. No renovation or major work has been done since it came to Sweden apart from service and maintenance. The previous owner went through the gearbox and installed a new fuel system. The straight six of 4.1l and the semi-automatic gearbox work as they should and the car goes well on the road with its 119hp. What has changed from the original is that it is lowered at the back with lowering blocks and highjackers. Please see all the photos in the album! Noted mileage is approx 107000 km but cannot be guaranteed and is sold as "TMU" (True mileage unknown).

Summary

A future and unusual classic with a really cool piece. A nice summer car that works well and does just as well at the car meeting as on a nice trip in the countryside and in our opinion suits all generations of car enthusiasts!
