Basic information and history

Bidders Highway has been honoured to help sell a large collection of motorcycles, motocross and mopeds as the owner is unfortunately no longer able to drive these. Due to condition of the owner, no questions can be asked about the objects. The information we managed to arrange is therefore slightly less than on our other objects.

BSA (Birmingham Small Arms Company Ltd) 500 from 1943 in good working order for its age. Current owner has had the motorcycle since 1987 and has used it quite a bit. Over the years it has been renovated and kept in good condition and has also been slightly rebuilt. Instead of an M20 engine that all most bikes during the war were equipped with, this one has a B33 machine, i.e. a couple of extra horses and a bit more torque than the original engine. The motorcycle comes with charming period leather bags.

Condition

The bike has been standing for a few years but was running fine before it was put away. Throttle cable is stuck and Bidders Highway has therefore not started the motorcycle. It needs a walk-through and service before it can come out and be enjoyed again. The paintwork is in good condition but has cracked around the tank cap. Rear saddle has glued repairs on the side. Chrome details look nice for their age. Lantern glass is in good condition.

Please look through all photos carefully to form an idea of the condition. Unfortunately, questions cannot be asked about the objects as the owner is not able to answer.

Summary

An English wartime horse that has been standing for a couple of years and now needs a review before it can get out and be ridden again!
