Basic information and History

From the collection Bidders Highway had the honour to sell comes this piece of Italian-built Harley-Davidson Ala Rossa from 1963 in fantastic condition!

3. 175cc and a top speed of approx. 130km/h

Aermacchi originated in the aircraft industry but later began manufacturing motorcycles. In the 60s, Harley-Davidson bought up a majority of the Italian factory and began manufacturing motorcycles under the name Aermacchi Harley-Davidson. There were several models, including this Ala Rossa (Red Wing), Ala D'Oro (Gold Wing) and Ala Azzura (Blue Wing), which in 1961 was directly imported to the USA and sold under the name Wisconsin and later Sprint.

Condition

Many Ala Rossa bikes have been racing on tracks over the years and this has of course contributed to fewer remaining on the roads. However, this little gem has held up well and comes in very good used condition. Patina and minor wear are of course on the bike. All functions are fully working, of course!
