Göteborg

Basic Information and History

A Swedish-sold BMW 330Ci with 15 owners (4 of them within the same family) over the years, having driven 234,097 kilometers. This example is in the right color combination, which truly highlights the car's sporty and elegant lines. The powerful 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine delivers both driving pleasure and comfort, and the bodywork reflects the car's solid maintenance.

Equipment and Options

  1. M-Sport package interior
  2. M-Sport package exterior
  3. Manual transmission

Condition

The seller describes the bodywork as being in good condition, with some rust beginning to appear (see photos). There are small dents and scratches on the car (see photos for a better assessment), along with some stone chips on the front. A slight color variation is present on one of the doors, but it's minimal and occurred after a professional paint job by Trygghansa, which is due to the difference between new and old paint. The windshield has been recently replaced, and the BMW emblems and headlight glass have been replaced with original parts. All the wheels have minor curb damage, but these are very small (see photos). The car has nearly new tires from the brands KUMHO and DUNLOP.

The interior has been newly renovated and is in very good condition with a few minor flaws. The headliner is nice except for a spot in the back left corner where the adhesive is slightly loose (see photos). The steering wheel has been reupholstered in Alcantara, and the work was done professionally. Thanks to a renovation by ColorGlo, the interior is in generally excellent condition for an E46. The car is equipped with an Android stereo that integrates well with the car's design, and the steering wheel buttons work with this stereo.

According to the seller, the engine is in great condition and runs perfectly, although it does use a little oil, which is common for M54B30 engines. The gearbox and drivetrain work flawlessly according to the seller, and the brakes, which were replaced with ATE parts within the last two years, perform very well.

Seller's Comment

The car has been in the family for six years. When I bought it, it wasn't in the best shape, but I saw its potential as a future collector's car due to its specifications – Stahlgrau Metallic, manual gearbox, no sunroof, and beige sport interior. Year by year, I’ve invested in improving the car with new original parts.

Since I'm not a mechanic myself, I've had the car serviced by Schmiedmann and received help from a friend who is a BMW mechanic with access to BMW special tools. Among other things, the subframe bushings have been replaced. The car is about 1 cm lower than the M-sport suspension, with Eibach springs. There are also 10 mm spacers in the front and 15 mm in the rear from spacers.se.

Last summer, an extensive renovation was carried out on the entire undercarriage. All joints, rods, control arms, shock absorbers, and bushings, including engine mounts, were replaced with Lemförder and Meyle HD parts from Germany. This has resulted in the car feeling very tight and stable. I also upgraded to an E60 545 gear lever for shorter shifts, and all the bushings in the shift mechanism have been replaced.

Earlier this year, I had the car's interior fully renovated by ColorGlo. All the trims, door panels, center console, leather, and seat padding have been refreshed, so now the car feels like new inside. The steering wheel airbag was replaced by BMW as a goodwill gesture, and the steering wheel is covered in Alcantara with M-color stitching from a year ago, making it practically new. The gear shift boot is also in black Alcantara to match the steering wheel.

The only thing really left to address on the car is the rust that has started to bubble up. I've held off on this to ensure that it’s done properly, in line with the high standard of everything else that’s been done. Once that’s taken care of, the car can almost be considered in mint condition.

Service History

Schmiedmann performed an oil change 13,000 kilometers ago. The service book is filled out, and documentation is available. The latest approved inspection was done in September 2023, and the next inspection is planned for September 2024.

Summary

This BMW 330Ci is a true beauty, especially with its flawless color combination that really highlights the car's elegant lines. The classic design, combined with the powerful engine, makes this car not only a pleasure to look at but also a joy to drive. The paint sparkles in the sun, perfectly contrasting with the stylish details of the interior, which is just as meticulously designed for both comfort and performance. This is truly a car for those who appreciate the best of German engineering and timeless design, a true gem on the road.
