Basic information and history

1992 BMW 740iA which was imported from Belgium back in 1998. The car is one of the last 200 produced and was specially ordered by a customer with, among other things, double glazing for a quieter environment in the cabin. The customer never collected the car and BMW's CEO of Brussels drove it for two years and then sold it to a private person. Shortly thereafter, the person passed away and BMW bought the car back. The car was registered in Sweden in 1998 and, according to the statement, the car were driven approx. 33000km during this period.

As of today, the car has had 6 users according to the register, two of whom are brothers of the current owner. The car comes in a nice condition and has managed time well. To combat rust, the car was treated with Tectyl. The odometer reading today stands at 180110km and can be guaranteed by the current owner.

Equipped with BMW's M60 V8 of approx. 286hp/400nm connected to a 5-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. 0-100km/h takes approx. 7.5 seconds and the top speed is stated at approx. 240km/h.


Equipment and options

Equipped with, among other things, electric seats with heating and memory on the driver's seat, full leather and wooden trim, double armrests, double insulating glass, soft close tailgate, sunroof, velour carpets, air conditioning, interior lighting package, CD changer for 6 discs, HiFi speaker system and cassette holder.

Condition

The general condition of the bodywork is described as very good. The car has survived rust very well thanks to the Tectyl treatment, but there are approx. 3 cm of surface rust under the driver's door molding. There are various stone chips in the front and on the bonnet. The paint has also been treated with paint protection and the surface behind the rear registration plate has been repainted. Windows in good condition but there are some scratches on the front door glass and a stone chip on the lower right edge of the windscreen. The chrome is good, the plastic moldings are slightly flamed but the emblems are in good condition. The rims are in good condition with fresh tires up front, 75% rubber left in the rear.

The interior is described as being in very good condition. The leather on the driver and passenger seat has held up very well over the years. Back seat as well. There is minor dirt here and there, but very nice impression. Normal wear around door sills. Precious wood in fine condition with only a minor crack in the finish on the pieces by the handle in the front doors. Inner ceiling in very good condition. Steering wheel, buttons and controls in good condition. The stereo has the usual pixel error that most BMWs suffer from, but otherwise all functions in the cabin work as intended.

Engine is described as being in good condition. Gearbox and drive coil in excellent condition. In 2015, the automatic transmission received a new oil strainer and plastic balls. Brakes are described as very good and parts were changed five years ago. Mechanically, the car works as intended.

Service history

The current owner has changed the oil and filter before each shutdown, i.e. in the autumn season. There is a large amount of receipts from 2002 onwards. The last inspection took place in 2023 and there are inspection reports from 2001 onwards.
