Basic Information & Background

This generation BMW 6 series is the first in the GT series from BMW and was built from 1976 until 1989 and was reserved for 2-door coupe models. It was produced only with BMW's recognized straight 6-cyl engines and has often been considered one of the most beautiful BMW models!

This object is a domestically sold model with only 4 owners who have taken good care of the car over the years and it received a major renovation in 2016-2019. Renovation consisted of exterior, interior and engine compartment where all wearing parts were changed such as cooling hoses, water pump, radiator, ignition parts, pins, starter motor, generator, anti-roll bar etc. and it also got a tailored cable mat and engine compartment insulation for hood and torpedo wall.

Engine compartment was painted and all aluminum was also polished. Exterior-wise, the car received new headlights, high beams, fog lights, grills, kidneys, repainted spoiler, lower part of the front fenders, inside hood, engine compartment and a new sunroof. A new windshield, new rear lights, rear spoiler and license plate lighting were also installed. The brakes are refurbished with fresh drilled discs. Interiorly, the car received a used original interior in a blue checkered contemporary 80s pattern! The car is also lowered with shorter springs and Bilstein shock absorbers.

Condition

Exterior: The car is in very good exhibition condition, only note is a small bubble on the left rear fender (see pictures for more info)

Interior: Really nice period correct interior in very fine condition. The car lacks a inner ceiling liner, but a brand new black one is included in the auction. The rubber strips for the doors are recommended to be replaced and one is included.

Mechanical: The silky straight 6 and 5-speed manual transmission runs amazingly well and has no known mechanical faults. The car has recieved a fresh filter and oil for the coming season. A fresh MOT is also applied to the vehicle. change the brake pressure switch (new included) and the cardan has a little vibration so new rubber bearings are included. All original parts for mounting the inner roof, original steering wheel, anti-roll bars at the rear, orange indicator glass etc. are included.
