1986 Porsche 944 Coupé
Basic Information and History
Swedish-sold Porsche 944 Coupé with only 76,016 km on the odometer.
According to the registration certificate, the car has had a total of 11 owners, including dealers, while Carfax shows 10 owners. Since 1996, it has had three owners, all over 60 years old. The history before 1996 is a bit unclear, but from that point on, it is well documented. Over the last 20 years, the car has been driven about 20,000 km and is in uniquely good condition for this model.
The car has never been modified and has very low mileage for its age. The previous owners, an elderly couple, owned the car since 2005 and drove it sparingly during the summers. It has never been driven on a track or subjected to hard driving. Simply put, it’s a very fine original car in excellent condition.
Equipment and Options
Electrically adjustable seats (driver) and electric sunroof.
Condition
The car is in very good condition with no rust. There are a few parking damages and door dings visible in the pictures, but overall, the condition is very good. A parking damage exists on the right rear and a door ding on the right front door. There is also a small dent on the hood. The paint is generally in good condition, with a few minor scratches and stone chips. All windows are intact, with a few stone chips on the windshield.
The hubcaps are slightly eroded, but the wheels are in good usable condition. The car has Yokohama tires that have been driven about 3000 km with a tread depth of 7 mm (DOT 2019). A receipt for the tires is available.
The interior is in very good condition. The driver’s seat has a small tear (see photo), but otherwise, the interior is intact and shows no signs of wear. No issues with the headliner. The steering wheel shows some use, but overall, the condition of everything is very good. The stereo is not original but has been replaced with a Pioneer from the 90s, which works.
The engine and gearbox are in good condition, and the brakes also work as they should.
Service History
Oil, filter, spark plugs, fuel filter, timing belt, balance belt, water pump, tension rollers, coolant, and thermostat were replaced on August 31, 2023, at 75,794 km. Unfortunately, there are very few stamps in the service book, but I have the book with the latest stamp dated June 14, 1994. The car was inspected on August 26, 2024, and all inspection records are available. The first inspection record is dated December 6, 1988.
Summary
This Porsche 944 has always been well maintained and has undergone regular servicing, making it a reliable investment for anyone seeking a car in top condition. Inside, you’ll find a classic interior with comfort and style, perfect for both daily driving and longer trips.
