1983 Mercedes-Benz 300 TDT
Basic Information and History
Sold new in Sweden, Mercedes-Benz 300 TDT
Mileage: 545,756 km
Previous owners: 7 (current owner is the 5th private owner)
This car has a fascinating history, having once been registered to a newspaper company in Kalmar, which is still in business today. It has undergone a carefully performed restoration by previous owners, making it unique and in great condition.
A special feature is the advanced two-way air suspension, installed by a former owner. The system is easily controlled via two buttons in the front seat, allowing the car to be raised or lowered as needed. With dual compressors and an air tank in the trunk, the air suspension offers a whole new level of driving enjoyment compared to conventional springs.
An audio system, valued at approximately 8,000 SEK, is included as shown in the pictures and can be removed if desired. The current owner also has the wind deflector for the sunroof.
Don’t miss the opportunity to acquire a classic car with unique charm and high driving comfort!
Condition
The bodywork is assessed by the seller to be in good condition, with no dents or significant scratches. There is no rust on the body, and it appears to have been garage-painted, although this cannot be completely confirmed. There are some minor runs, but a polish could make a big difference. There is discoloration on the left rear window (trunk area), but otherwise, the light housings are in good condition, though the chrome details could use some polishing. The wheels are undamaged, and the tires, which are two years old, remain in good condition with limited mileage. Note that one tire is damaged but still drivable; a new tire can be ordered if needed.
The interior is in generally good condition for its age. The seats could benefit from cleaning with a wet vacuum, and there are some scuffs on both the seats and the dashboard. The headliner has been reupholstered and insulated, and the steering wheel is new this year (the original steering wheel is included). Everything in the car functions as it should.
The engine is in decent condition according to the seller, and the transmission works well, although it may shift harshly at times depending on driving style. The vacuum valve can be adjusted if necessary. The brakes were replaced during the restoration two years ago.
Service History
The service book and manual are intact. The most recent stamp in the service book is from 1986, and the current owner has not made any additional notes. The owner recently changed the oil to Valvoline Heavy Duty 5W-40 and replaced the oil filter (Bosch) and fuel filter. This was performed in April 2024. Last inspected on May 20, 2023.
