1971 Dodge D100
Basic Information and History
1971 Dodge D100 – Imported from the USA
This Dodge D100 has had a total of 11 owners, including car dealers, and carries an interesting history. Under the hood is a 400 cubic inch Big Block engine, which was not standard in 1971, as this engine was introduced only in 1972. The power is transmitted through a 727 automatic transmission, making the car both powerful and classic.
In the 1980s, one owner bought the car with the ambition of building a street race car. The project began with disassembly and installation of the current 400 Big Block engine and 727 transmission. However, time and money ran out, and the car was sold. The next owner completed the project, but without a race focus.
Later, the car ended up with a sheet metal worker who used it as a company vehicle. With a fondness for yellow, the entire car was painted in yellow, including the seats, bumpers, door handles, mirrors, and even the background of the instrument panel.
The current owner purchased the car in 2006 and has since used it as a hobby vehicle. Over the years, the owner has carried out a "rolling restoration" and maintenance both on their own and at workshops. The all-yellow look has been toned down, and the car has been repainted in a gray metallic color with some glossy details.
The tires on the car now have about 5 mm left on the front and around 3 mm on the rear, while the older aluminum wheels from the 1980s are still available if interested. New tires are mounted on the old wheels. The odometer reading is unknown, but the car has driven approximately 50,000 km in the past 18 years.
A car with both character and history – perfect for the enthusiast!
