Basic Information & Background
The Chevrolet Camaro is one of the most iconic and sought-after muscle cars of all time – and this particular example is something truly special! 1967 marked the model’s debut, and it was an immediate success when it launched in 1966. The Camaro was available as both a coupe and a convertible, with V6 or V8 engines.
This coupe, however, has been taken to an entirely new level, where classic '60s design meets modern technology. The car was imported to Sweden as early as 1976 and has had few owners with a well-documented history.
Equipment
This is a Camaro with an unbeatable combination of style and performance. The body is painted in an elegant dark red shade, and the interior has been newly restored in black. For a modern touch, there’s a powerful stereo system and a set of Autometer gauges.
Under the hood sits a brand-new 6.2L Chevrolet LS3 crate engine – a modern, powerful, and reliable V8 also used in the Camaro and Corvette. The engine has only covered just under 1,000 km and is paired with a new 4L60 automatic transmission, known for its smooth and precise shifting. The transmission has also only done 1,000 km.
The entire drivetrain and chassis have been upgraded for optimal performance and driving pleasure:
- Coil-over suspension
- Upgraded control arms and bushings
- Reinforced sway bars
- Hydraulic brake system with disc brakes and Corvette calipers
- Rack and pinion steering with hydraulic power assist
Condition
Exterior: Recently restored with a seven-layer paint job that has been wet-sanded between layers for a deep, mirror-like finish. Almost all the chrome is new original parts, and the car is completely rust-free, both body and undercarriage (see pictures!). It sits on American Racing wheels in top condition with nearly new tires.
Interior: Restored and stylish with black bucket seats, new carpet, headliner, and a period-correct wooden sport steering wheel. The Autometer gauges add a modern and sporty touch that blends perfectly with the car’s classic aesthetic.
Mechanical: Chevrolet LS3 crate engine and 4L60 automatic transmission – both barely broken in. The car is mechanically flawless and ready for the road.
Service History
As the car has an entirely new drivetrain, there is no traditional service book, but it is very well documented with receipts and history. Additionally, the car is road-registered with this engine and is now tax- and inspection-exempt. It has only covered 200 km in recent years.
Summary
Here you have the ultimate combination of classic 1960s design and modern reliability. A well-built and thoughtfully executed project where only the best components have been used. A unique opportunity to acquire a fully built dream car – building something similar today would cost significantly more.
