1985 Mercedes-Benz 380 SL

Basic information and History
The Mercedes SL "R107" is a very popular and classic model series from Mercedes that many recognize from Hollywood films and TV series - think Bobby in Dallas - and is one of the models that has been produced for the longest time: a full 18 years with relatively few changes through the years. The only model from Mercedes that has been produced for a longer period of time is the Geländewagen.

This example is a 380 SL that was imported from the USA in 2009, the car has only had 2 owners here at home since 2019.
Here at home, it has undergone a light renovation with a lot of wear and tear parts replaced and the car given a new interior and a new paint job.

Condition
Whole and nice hardtop, the convertible top was changed about 3 years ago. The entire body was blasted and repainted in the original color 3 years ago. Interior such as the chairs have been reupholstered with new hemp and the leather has been replaced where new carpets were also put in. The renovation work on the interior was done in Germany.
The wooden decor has been renovated.

Mechanically: The car works flawlessly, there are no noted leaks according to the seller and the brakes have recently been replaced.

The tire pattern is approx. 8mm.

Service history
Most wear parts have been replaced such as brakes, distributor cap, cables, spark plugs, air filter, new fuel pump and filter, all bushings that are dry have been replaced. The injection has been completed and an ultra wash has also been carried out.

Brakes such as discs and pads have recently been changed.
The machine runs silky smooth and shifts nicely.

Summary
This generation of Mercedes is still a real cut according to many. Fantastic build quality combined with a timeless design and good user-friendliness make it a clear classic. A great gateway to classic car ownership or a given candidate in the collection.
