1990 BMW E30 M3
The BMW M3 is one of the world's most historic and recognized model series, and a yardstick in the class for many manufacturers and owners. The E30 generation is one of the most sought-after and voted for by, among others, Automobile Magazine to one of 5 "Top greatest drivers car of all time". The M3 model was developed as a homologation model to be allowed to drive in, among other things, DTM and Gruppe A competitions.
This is a Swedish sold and very well-documented example that was first registered in February 1991. The seller has had the car since 2009 and has taken very good care of it and invested a lot of money in both appearance and performance and built a real dream car for those looking for something out of the ordinary. The list of upgrades is long and for those who are looking for a really sharp street car but who also want to put many miles on curvy roads and/or tracks, this is just the right model for you.
Condition
Exterior:
The seller says that the car is in very good condition externally apart from a couple of small marks which are documented in the album. The car has been repainted in the original color (Alpin white) with double layers of 2k paint. There are no structural modifications such as cage etc. Front bumper is original with a retrofitted original Evo2 lip. There is a self-designed splitter mounted in the front lip as well as the front beam. More modifications include Sport Evolution air controls, Sport Evolution "kidneys" = better cooling, Sport Evolution hood seals, and Sport Evolution front fenders without holes for blinkers, The rear wing is an aftermarket Sport Evolution copy "gurney flap" and the original remains! The car is also equipped with an original manual sunroof and original Hella black headlights with Xenon lights (perfect lighting). Interior:
The interior upholstery appears to be in very good condition and without significant wear and tear. The dark red leather interior contrasts really well with the paint and the combination is just the icing on the cake. The entire interior including the instrument panel and center console presents itself very well apart from the absence of a stereo and speakers in the hat shelf, however, there is wiring pulled forward and also prepared with a low level to the boot lid. An extra tank is also mounted in the tailgate. The controls are apparently original controls in very good condition and all gauges and other interior functions are in working order. Mechanics:
Mechanically speaking, the car is something out of the ordinary lavished with an incredible amount of time and money, and also very well documented!
Engine:
Bored block 93mm to 95mm = 2.4 liters. High comp pistons 12:1. Ported top with harder valve springs - Refurbished lifters - Rebuilt oil sump with baffles that holds approx. 7 liters of oil instead of 4.2 liters (small oil leakage when the engine is off) - Mishimoto water cooler - Köhler Manifold - Köhler carbon fiber intake - Complete supersprint exhaust system (race) - VAG ignition coils - VEMS engine management - Harder engine bushing - Lacquered valve cover in Alpine white - Original spark plug (special spark plug socket/tool included) - Mapped and benched to 275hp.
Driveline:
Gearbox overhauled and refurbished - Stronger hardy disc from M5E34 - New aluminum flywheel - Kevlar clutch disc - Gearbox bushings from M5E28 - Original cardan - Original rear derailleur with 25% diff brake mounted with solid partial bushings - Diff cover from Z3M with larger cooling fins.
Chassis:
Reinforced front beam - Steering gear from Z3E36 for faster shifting - Original aluminum support arms - Anti-roll bars from HR front and rear - Adjustable anti-roll bars - Bilstein Gruppe N shock absorbers (converted to coilovers in the front) with springs from Millway - Reinforced anti-roll bars both front and rear - Rear swingarms strengthen - Delrin bushings throughout the rear - All wheel bearings replaced with new ones - Rebuilt rear beam for adjusting wheel angles - Sparco front strut brace - Mov'it brake kit for M3E30 with 330mm front brake discs and 4-piston calipers - 300mm rear brake discs with 4-piston calipers - Pin bolt with nut for the wheels - Original / BBS Style 5 18” split rims from 7 series E38 - Front rims rebuilt to match the brakes.
