Hagerty Automotive Intelligence analyzed data from public and private sales, along with historical trends and insurance valuations to narrow the list to 11 car models. We highlight three of these, as these three appeared a little more frequently on Bidders Highway.

Worth noting is that they did not only look at the price of the car, but also included values such as driving pleasure and what the enthusiasts think, when publishing this list. You can find the full list at the bottom of the page, but these three caught our interest a little extra.

Datsun 280ZX

The Datsun 280ZX was a little bit slower and heavier than the previous Z cars, ultimately becoming more of a grand tourer and less of a pure sports car. Datsun were convinced that the customers preferred comfort, space and more luxurious equipment. As a result, many enthusiasts passed on the model, but have come to appreciate the fact that the ZX captures much of the original Z's appeal at a fraction of the cost - especially when equipped with a turbo under the hood. Prices have increased by 138% since 2019, but the analysis advises that there is still room for value growth.

Volvo P1800

What it lacks in speed, it makes up for in style – the Volvo P1800's Italian curves make it look far more expensive than it is. Today's "Next Gen collectors" appreciate that equation and consistently pay more for these cars than older enthusiasts do, which is a good indication that this Swedish coupe will continue to be appreciated worldwide. Extra fun with a Swedish model on the list, of course, we think.

Jaguar E-Type

The Jaguar E-Type Coupe was first shown at the Geneva Motor Show in 1961, and its beautiful lines still touch enthusiasts to the core and its engine gets the heart racing. The appreciation of these British classics has receded considerably over the past three years, but this has brought them within reach of a new generation of enthusiasts. "Gen X" interest has increased by 8% in the past year alone, which could cause prices to recover, and eventually even begin to climb back up.
