Basic information and History

Domestically sold SAAB 9000i in well-preserved condition! Many SAAB 9000s did not survive our salty winters and few remain in such condition as this one. The car has a great ownership history and has only had four owners over the years. The first owner was a gentleman in Svalöv who had the car delivered on January 20, 1988 and kept the car until August 2018. The mileage at the change of ownership was approx. 93500km and the new owner drove just under 400 km during his two years of ownership. The third owner was a gentleman in Trelleborg, formerly employee at SAAB, who appreciated the car for its well maintained original condition. He also drove the car sparingly and in the spring of 2023 the current owner bought the vehicle. The car has been restored to its original design except for a different interior installed, and driven 2500 absolutely problem-free kilometres! Current odometer reading is 103.950 guaranteed kilometres. The car is incredibly rust-free and this shows that it has always been very well looked after.

  • SAAB 9000i in well maintained condition
  • Same owner for 30 years
  • Only 103.950 kilometres

Under the hood we find SAAB's B202i, a 2-liter straight four with DOHC and 16 valves of approx. 126hp/175nm linked to a five-speed manual gearbox and front-wheel drive. The performance is adequate with a 0-100km/h sprint of approx. 10.5 seconds and a top speed of approx. 200km/h.

Equipment and Options

Despite early delivery in 1988, an optional catalyst was added when ordering. This was later standard equipment for the model. It has also received a set of SAAB Turbo rims with dimensions from a Turbo ie. 195/60-15. In addition to this, a turbo wing is also installed at the rear for that little extra visual detail. The interior has been changed from gray plush to one with black leather and suede inserts. The donor car was a SAAB 9000 from 1997. The previous owner had a difficult time finding a new plush interior that made the car right, but chose a fresh leather interior instead. Otherwise, we find, among other things, cruise control and a slightly more modern stereo.

Condition

The car comes in a consistently good condition and has survived rust, amazingly. No major renovations have been carried out and the car is described as damage-free. Glass parts are in good condition and so are the moldings and emblems. The paintwork is in good condition, however we find, among other things, some scratches on the bonnet and a normal amount of stone chips. There is a small dent visible on the boot lid. There are also occasional door knocks, but nothing glaringly bad. The original rims are in good condition and come with approx. 9mm pattern depth.

The interior is in good used condition. The chairs have survived worse cracks and damage but have normal wear and tear from stepping in and out. Simpler interventions such as repainting can make chairs look like new! Inner doors are slightly stained and material hangs in back door. Instrument panel is in good condition and everything works as intended. Inner ceiling is without worse stains and sits where it should. A- and C-pillars have had their upholstery replaced in January 2024. The work was carried out by the well-known R&C Sunroofs and Interiors in Hästveda.

Mechanically, the engine and gearbox are described as being in mint condition! No leaks have been noted. Brakes are described as being in good condition. Under the hood it looks nice and tidy, considering its age. Underneath, the car is in very good condition.

There is a lot of documentation that comes with the car and photos are included in the photo album.
