2005 Porsche Boxster S
Basic information and history
Porsche launched the Boxster in 1996, three years after two young designers created the concept for the car. The biggest difference to the rest of the cars in the model range was that the engine was placed in front of the rear carriage. This led to good weight distribution and fine driving characteristics. Today, the Boxster is in its third generation and is Porsche's best-selling sports car. The car was produced on the same assembly line in Stuttgart that the 928 was built on. The demand was also so great that Finnish Valmet Automotive had to produce the car in Finland.
This second generation 987 Boxster S from 2005 was imported from Germany back in 2009 and has since had 10 owners, several of whom were car dealers and not users. When imported to Sweden, the car had only traveled 25870 km. The car has today driven just under 70.000 km and comes in a well maintained condition. The car was sold as a "black edition", which means that interior and exterior details are painted black. Equipped with a 3.2-liter boxer six with 280hp/320nm, you get from 0-100 in 5.5 seconds and top out at almost 270km/h. Shifting gears is handled by the driver, since this Porsche comes with the sought after manual gearbox!
Equipment and options
The vehicle comes with, among other things, a rain sensor and automatically dimming mirrors, heated seats, full leather on the dashboard, wind deflectors, ACC and an infotainment system with navigation and telephone. In addition to the above, there are also options such as:
490 - A.S.K sound system
440 - integrated antenna
545 - cruise control
584 - storage space in the engine compartment
Condition
The car is described by the current owner as being in very good condition. The paintwork looks great considering its age and that black paint always tends to show washing scratches and other small normal defects more clearly than other colours. Small stone chips have been noted on the hood, about 1-2mm in diameter which are visible. Otherwise, there is a normal amount of small stone chips in the front. The carbon wrapped wing on the tailgate has two small marks in it. Glass parts are described as being in good condition. No comments have been received on mouldings or emblems. The original rims are in good condition. Glass details are also in good condition. The cab looks nice and only has a minor mark on it.
The interior of the car is in good condition. The chairs have coped well with usual wear and tear from, among other things, stepping in and out. However, there is wear in the colour of the leather on the driver's seat. Buttons and controls have wear in the form of rubber slips. A common problem on the model. Door panels are also in good condition. Normal wear is of course present, considering the age of the car. The leather-covered instrument panel is in good condition with no damage. The steering wheel as well. Leather on the handbrake has minor marks in it. Plastic over the centre console as well. Entry strips have usual wear.
Mechanically, the car is described as working well. Engine and gearbox work great with no noise or problems. The tire's tread depth is measured at approx. 5 mm. No leaks have been noted from the gearbox or engine. Brakes have plenty of pads left and are described as excellent from the last inspection.
Feel free to look through our photos of the car to form an idea of the condition. If you have questions, these can be easily asked in the comment section.
Service history
The car is well serviced and has been taken care of by both the current and previous owners. Under "documentation" among pictures you will find, among other things, service book and inspection report. The last inspection was carried out on 2023-08-02. Last service was performed at authorized Porsche workshop, Häggenäs Automobile AB, 2023-10-30.
Summary
A Black Edition Boxster with a nice history. Current owners have enjoyed the car just under 2700 km per season. The car has been stored in a warm garage with a canopy on in between trips. The car is summed up as a well-cared-for specimen with good collector potential!
