1968 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser

Background & information
1968 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser, finished in light blue with matching blue interior.
The Vista Cruiser became a popular family wagon and takes its name from a clever skylight design in the raised roof which gave the cabin a more airy feel. With two rows of back seats it offered plenty of space for the occupants. This model being a 1968 it benefited from a major restyling of the GM A-body and saw the split skylight with a one-piece unit, and increase in the wheelbase 1" to 121 in (3,073 mm).
From 1968 to 1972, a 350-cubic-inch (5,700 cc; 5.7 L) V8 became standard. Transmission offerings through the years included one of two automatics—the two-speed Jetaway (1968) or three-speed Turbo Hydramatic (1968–72). Launched in 1964.

Equipment
the car comes with a small number of spares and a well organised folder packed with old paperwork. In this you will find invoices from over the years, past inspections, part receipts, original documents and books.

Condition
The odometer is showing 10,846KM but actual mileage is 310,846 km as the clock has rolled over 3 times, as shown by the handwritten mileage and fuel log book kept meticulously by the owner.
Externally, the car shows minor wear but is well maintained for its age. Minor crack in the right brake light. Minor marks on paint and decor. (See pictures)
Inside, there are some marks on the upholstery and decor (see pictures). The right sofa at the back has cracked the upholstery. (See picture)
Cracks can also be seen on the steering wheel. (See picture)
Mechanically, the car runs well, seems to moisten the left gasket slightly.
The engine was rebuilt some 30.000 km ago, all according to bills in the binder.

Summary
The car has a wonderful history having been bought new in Sweden and kept in the same family ever since, a rare thing in a sea of imported US cars with unknown pasts.
