1992 Mercedes-Benz SL 500
Basic Information and History
For many, the Mercedes Benz SL is the archetype of a classic enthusiast car. Beautiful to look at, top-down ability and acclaimed build quality, this is a good option for those wanting to open-air this summer. This SL 500 also has the power under the hood to match the looks and with its V8 is for many the most attractive model.
Model designation R129 was built from 1989 until 2001 and was considered by Mercedes-Benz to be the world's safest car, despite the lack of a roof. This was with the help of, among other things, adjustable shock absorbers and a folding roll bar if the accident was imminent. This solution, which is now standard, was first introduced by Mercedes on the R129. The model was also the first with belts attached directly to the seat. In addition to high safety equipment, the car's comfort and luxury were also top-notch. The high level of standard-equipment and fine comfort made the car an absolute top choice among GT wagons.
This black R129 SL500 comes with a 5-liter V8 of 320hp/470nm connected to a 4-speed automatic transmission. 0-100 takes approx. 6.5 seconds and the top speed is restricted to 250 km/h. The car was sold in 1992 in Germany and imported to Sweden in 2008. The current mileage on the car is approx. 165 000 kilometers which the current owner and inspection report can verify.

The seller notes two small dents on the rear of the car. The windshield is in good condition, but the integrated window for the hood shows wear. The rims and tires are in good condition, but all rims have minor scratches.
The interior of the car is in good condition, the black leather still looks nice and has also survived the worst cracks and damage from e.g. getting in and out but naturally shows signs of some age-related wear. All door panels and instrument panels are in good condition but the driver's seat shows some wear to the underside. All electronics work as they should according to the seller who notes a minor damage to a speaker grill on the passenger side as well as a minor hole in the windshield behind the seats. Buttons and controls are in good condition.
