Background & information
A large and imposing Ford Galaxie 500 equipped with the coveted 428 (7.0L) Bigblock engine which was an extra option and the last year it could be ordered in a civilian version. The Galaxie came standard with a 302 (4.9L) engine. After 1968, only the police in the USA could order the 428 machine for their interceptor vehicles. In 1968, the Galaxie model received a final facelift before the new generation arrived in 1969. The changes meant that the headlights were mounted horizontally against the 67's vertical headlights, the front grill received a new design and minor updates were made to the interior. The car was imported from the USA in 2008 to Sweden.

Condition
Exterior: Really nice car for its age in original condition. There are blemishes, but the car gives a good overall impression. The vinyl top is great. The defects that exist are small stone chips and some superficial rust bubbles at the fenders.
Interior: Leather upholstery is in good condition, the front sofa seat is reupholstered and restuffed. A crack in the instrument panel is noted, otherwise the wear on the interior is normal for the age.
The tank gauge is out of order.
Well-kept car that gives a complete and nice impression.
Odometer reading 78366 miles. The meter reading cannot be guaranteed.
Mechanically: V8 on 428 Cui which works perfectly, everything works as it should. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly and well. The power steering is light and turns with a finger on the steering wheel. The heating package has been removed.
Renovations: No known interventions have been made on the car apart from the renovation of the seat on the front sofa, which was carried out by Hangrens in Sundsvall, who are professionals in this type of work.
