Basic information and History

The Ford Fairlane began life as a "full-size" model that was built in a multitude of different versions. In the 60s, the car was packaged and rebranded as a mid-size car and also became sportier.

This copy was sold new in Sweden and had only 5 previous owners where the seller bought it in 2019 and has both looked after it very well but also enjoyed it. The model is still an affordable model today and thanks to the modifications, it offers sporty driving characteristics, good performance and good reliability with a really hard piece!

This is a car that is built to go about as much on the street as on the strip and does both parts well, holds the temperature both on cruising and harder driving, revs 2200rpm in 100km/h and has gone 7.30sec in 201m. What you pay for in this car is the performance and the whole thing with the right piece and the pictures speak for themselves!

Condition

Exterior: The seller says that the car is in good condition, even though it has been over 10 years since the previous owner did a rust repair and full paint job. There are one or two minor marks on paint and a couple of small rust bubbles on the left rear fender, otherwise the exterior is in good condition. There is a stone chip in the windshield (no cracks) and otherwise it is old glass that is a little scratched. Chrome and emblems are in good condition with some "bumps" in the chrome. For more info on the condition see our detailed photos in the album and feel free to ask questions in the comment field!

Interior: The interior is in very good used condition with some wear, the chairs are reupholstered and fine with some general "patina" from use. The steering wheel has a small crack in the bakelite and the dashboard and panel are in good condition. All the red is painted, and even the carpet was changed 2 years ago. Noted that the radio is not connected and that the tank gauge "works" with a certain margin of error. For more info, please see our detailed photos in the album and feel free to ask questions in the comment field!

Mechanics: The car runs fantastically well in both engine and gearbox. The well built 408ci Windsor V8 is super strong and braked to 495hp at the rear wheels and the sound and appearance of the intake with separate intake pipes both looks and sounds absolutely amazing! The TKO box makes it easy to drive and the seller says that the car keeps the temperature both when cruising and also during more active driving. It is noted that the rear stuffing box on the gearbox is damp a little but otherwise completely tight. The front rims are made by "Rocket racing launcher" and there are 15x10 sheet metal rims in the back with worn tires. The last service was done in 2023/07 by the seller who handled the service himself. All brakes are in good condition. Please see all photos in the album for more info!

Summary

A really nice and affordable muscle car with the right modifications and really cool stuff. The car is in good condition both exterior, interior and mechanically and ready for action! An opportunity to buy a turnkey coach that will stand out among its peers.
