1971 Dodge Challenger 440
Originally from the USA, this tough Dodge Challenger has lived its life in Sweden since 2011. The car has had 2 owners since it came to Sweden where the seller has owned it for 4 years.
The car was delivered from the factory with a 318 engine but over the years one owner made the wise decision to replace the engine with an upgraded 440 engine which is a much better engine and sought after upgrade. The seller in turn has built and installed an upgraded 440 engine with many performance parts and also upgraded the chassis of the car and built an "R/T clone" with associated cosmetic and mechanical upgrades.

Condition
Exterior: The seller says that the car is in good working order. The car is foiled matte black over black paint, which according to the owner should be in good condition and received a full paint job around 2010. Among other things noted is a dent/damage on the right front fender, a couple of small rust bubbles on the plate between the rear window and tailgate, and the matte black foil has discoloration. The seller says it's nothing serious and the plate still feels thick. Chrome moldings are in good condition without dents and the gills in the grill are present and included. Rear fenders have been replaced and the floor in the trunk is new. Glass parts are in good condition as well as the Weld Draglite rims. All remarks are documented in the album, see our detailed pictures there and feel free to ask questions in the comment field!
Interior: The seller greets that the interior is complete and fresh in the interior. Porsche seats (original in good condition included) are in good used condition with new three-point belts at the front. Dashboard and panel are in good condition, as is the hand made pistol grip lever. Noticed that the tachometer is out of order. For more info, please see our detailed photos in the album and feel free to ask questions in the comment field!
Mechanics: Very good condition of the entire drivetrain. The newly built 440 engine with a genuine direct connect mechanical six pack (performance upgrade in the 80s) feels very strong and rap thanks to higher comp. The engine is built with all the right parts, including forged pistons, rods, cranks, etc. There are also nice Edelbrock aluminum tops, MSD ignition/distributor with rev stop, and that you can set the ignition from the passenger compartment. The chassis is in good condition with new QA1 front upper link arms, Koni shocks, reinforced original lower link arms and anti-roll bars. Brakes are in very good condition all around. The tread depth of the tires is approx. 7 mm and there are no remarks on lighting or noted leaks. The last service was carried out in May 2023 by the seller and the car was last inspected on 2020-08-11 and is now both inspection and tax exempt. The odometer reading is about 35,000 miles but cannot be guaranteed. Feel free to see all the photos in the album for more info and ask questions in the comment field!
Summary
A Challenger with the right upgrades and an absolutely fantastic powertrain. Just turn the key and drive as it is, or a perfect winter project to fix with the cosmetic!
