1978 Datsun 280Z
Basic Information and History
A 1978 Datsun 280Z, imported from the USA to Sweden in 2016. The car has around 50,000 km on the odometer and is in excellent condition. The car was repainted this year, giving it a fresh and stylish exterior. This model has a timeless design, making it a perfect choice for anyone who appreciates classic sports cars with history and style.
Condition
The bodywork is described by the seller as being in very good condition, without any major dents or scratches, and it is free from rust. There is a slight raised area in the paint on the right rear fender. The car underwent a complete stripping before repainting, during which all windows and removable parts were taken off. It was then coated with sanding primer, which was sanded down before painting. The windows have some scratches from normal wear, and the chrome trim is slightly matte. The wheels have minor damage (see photos), but the tires are like new.
The interior is in good condition. Holes were drilled in the doors for speakers, and the door sill trims show wear (see photo). The headliner is in good shape but has come loose at the back near the hatch. The steering wheel is in fine condition, and all controls work well without any cracks. However, the tachometer needle is stuck. The car has a stereo that is not original.
The engine is in good condition with no unusual noises, and the 3-speed transmission shifts smoothly without noise from the gearbox or rear axle. The brakes work, but they may need replacing soon.
Service History
The current owner recently changed the car’s oil. Registration inspection and technical inspection were conducted in October, with a note on the right front high beam pattern that will be addressed before sale.
