Basic Information & Background
This low-milled example still reflects a tough-guy attitude with its black paint and graphite gray leather interior. Contemporary digital meters give that wonderful retro feel.
The power is sent to the rear wheels from a directly injected 5.7 liter V8 via a four-speed automatic transmission. This engine is called L83 with a quoted power output of 205 horsepower and 390 Nm of torque.
The equipment list is long and includes, among other things, the Z51 handling pack, which is a sought-after option.
With only one user in the USA, the car was bought as a gift to the former owner’s father in Maryland USA, It was delivered in a two-tone color black over silver but was painted completely black before it was delivered to the first owner. The car has a clean carfax and low miles. The original window sticker is still there from the time the car was bought new. The current owner in Sweden has barely used the car.
When the Corvette C4 was launched in 1983, it was groundbreaking for its time, with digital instrumentation, aluminum wheels, aluminum calipers, independent suspension despite composite rear leaf springs called transverse fiberglass mono-leaf spring, this suspension system weighed 1/3 of a pair of traditional coil springs. The rear bumper was now made of plastic instead of fiberglass and was significantly lighter than its predecessor.

Condition
The fiberglass body is in good condition. The left bumper at the rear has been damaged and replaced sometime in the 90s, the car gives a very nice impression.
Surface rust is visible on exhaust systems and some suspension components
Minimal interior wears as on the carpet on the driver's side and in the luggage floor.
Mechanically, the car works without any remarks
Service history
Before shipment from the USA, the car underwent a major service with new filters, spark plugs, ignition cables, and distributors together with refilling of AC and replacements of all fluids.
Work also included a new motor for the pop-up lights, which now work as they should.

The Corvette C4 has long lived a bit in the shadows but is now starting to rise in popularity with collectors and enthusiasts. The 80s have received a boost as a fun decade and a gateway into the new digital era, and what could be more fitting than a black Corvette C4 with its digital gauges and angular design language. The prices are still affordable and it is above all important to find a good example. This is a great car with its low miles, few owners, and well-kept history.
