1965 Chevrolet C10
Chevrolet C10, a recognized name in the automotive world and synonymous as one of the world's best-selling work vehicles but also in recent years as more of a collector's item and hot rod. This model is of the first generation and was produced between 1960 and 1966, which is also considered one of the best-looking generations.
This example is a sought-after and well-maintained 2-door stepside model that was sold new in the US and imported to Sweden in 2018 from San Diego. According to information from previous owners, the car has had two owners in the USA, where it was also restored to its current condition about 18 years ago.
In recent years it has also been upgraded and updated with, among other things, a 700 R4 gearbox, newly refurbished engine approx. 150 miles ago with a new switchless ignition system and 2-stage fan, new power brakes and a nice lowering.
Condition
Exterior: The car is in a good and honest condition with no damage to the body but with a couple of minor remarks, including some surface rust in places. The paintwork is otherwise in good condition and was renovated in the early 2000s and gives a good overall impression. The original wheels are also in good condition without damage but with some "patina" and surface rust. Glass parts, moldings and emblems are in good condition. For more info on exact condition, see our detailed photos in the album and feel free to ask questions in the comments!
Interior. Just like the exterior, the interior is in good used condition, the seat upholstery and padding is in very good condition and has held up well over the years, as has the dashboard and panel. The steering wheel and controls show signs of use and the interior ceiling also has cracks in the paint. The seller says that both mechanically and electrically the car works as it should. For more info on exact condition, see our detailed photos in the album and feel free to ask questions in the comments!
Mechanical. Engine and driveline are in very good condition and the engine was renovated approx. 150 miles ago. The nice straight 6 pulls nicely and paired with the recently installed automatic transmission makes the car a really comfortable cruiser. Newly fitted servo brakes, switchless ignition system and 2-stage fan make the car even more reliable and absolutely suitable for everyday use!
The car was inspected in September 2018 without any complaints and is now both tax and tax exempt. There are no leaks from noted. The most recent service was carried out in connection with an engine renovation and previous service history/documentation is not available, but the original manual from 1965 is included. The tires have approx. 10 mm tread depth and the car brakes straight and nicely. The odometer reading is approximately 33,000 miles but cannot be guaranteed. For more info on exact condition, see our detailed photos in the album and feel free to ask questions in the comments!
Summary
A real classic from the USA with a nice history and in good used condition. The market for these models has been stable in recent times and now shows a tendency to start to increase in the fine examples that are on the market. Finding a similar item in the same condition is difficult and this charming vintage pickup would work just as well as a farm car, daily driver or as the basis for a hot rod build!
