Background & Basic Information
Very rare (1 of 333 manufactured w this spec) 1965 AMC Rambler Marlin with low miles, renovated and Matching Numbers. Also documented in several magazines including Swedish Wheels No. 3 2018.
The engine is a 327 V8 flashomatic 3-speed automatic transmission.
The car shows a wonderful mix of completely newly renovated mechanics and original 60s patina on, for example, chrome and moldings where a little sign of age just adds character without compromising on function.
The current condition stems from an extensive renovation in 2014 after only 60,000 US original miles (96,560km). All mechanics were stripped down and renovated. Summary
AMC Rambler Marlin is a very rare AMC model but at the same time easy to recognize by its distinctive design. The chrome Marlin fish in the emblem, the fastback body, and the characteristic taillights do everything to create a unique car. This example is one of only 333 made with this engine rear-end combo.
In addition, this particular car has very low miles, well-documented history and maintenance, matching numbers and a condition that does not leave much to be desired. We love the paint and the original condition of the exterior, but for those who want something more discreet or a full exterior restoration, it is easily fixed on a car with such a healthy body.
