1998 Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG
Basic Information and History
This 1998 Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG is a high-performance sports sedan with a classic design and a powerful V8 engine. The car was originally sold new in Japan before being imported to Bulgaria by a previous owner, Ivalyo Kovachev. During its time in Bulgaria, the car was sparingly used as a summer vehicle and was mostly garage-kept. It is now available for a new owner and is being sold in excellent condition.
The odometer shows 146,492 km, but this cannot be fully guaranteed as the service book is not complete. The car has had a total of three owners, including the current seller.
Equipment and Options
This E55 AMG is equipped with nearly all available factory options at the time of purchase, except for seat massage. Features include:
- Full AMG exterior and interior package
- Leather upholstery
- Electrically adjustable sport seats
- Climate control
- Sunroof
- Upgraded stereo system with a rearview camera, Bluetooth, and hands-free functionality
- LPG conversion, allowing the car to run on both gasoline and gas
The car is shown in the photos with wider aftermarket wheels fitted with almost new tires. However, it can optionally be delivered with the original wheels and tires, which are also in very good condition. The tread depth on the original wheels is at least 5 mm.
Condition
The car is in excellent condition both inside and out. The bodywork is free from rust, dents, or major scratches. However, the hood has been repainted due to clear coat peeling.
The interior is generally well-preserved but has some minor imperfections:
- Small cracks on the top of the dashboard
- Surface cracks in the leather on the driver’s seat
The tires are nearly new, having been driven only 1000 km. The wheels are free from damage.
Service History
The car will be delivered freshly inspected and serviced. The most recent service was performed by the current owner, who has handled most of the maintenance personally. However, a crankshaft seal replacement at the transmission was carried out by a workshop.
Some previous service records and documentation are available, but they are not complete.
The LPG system can be relatively easily removed if desired. It does not cause any issues during regular inspections, as the gas tank is securely placed in the trunk. The combination of gasoline and gas fuel gives the car a total driving range of approximately 1400 km before refueling is needed.
Summary
This is a well-maintained and highly enjoyable AMG sedan featuring a powerful 5.5-liter V8 engine and a unique history. The car has been in good hands and has been sparingly used by previous owners. It is free from major damage and will be delivered freshly inspected and serviced.
A fantastic opportunity to own one of Mercedes-Benz’s most iconic high-performance sedans from the 1990s!
